Just fucking around in photoshop.
I was looking at tutorials for practicing with a drawing tablet, and they were all lame, "draw a bunch of these types of lines, and these shapes, etc". So I thought I'd do fun things as practice, instead.

This alien is a recurring character I like to draw. Here he's in an environmental suit of some kind. While drawing him, I thought up a backstory:
He's from a race of telepathic/psycho-manipulative aliens. He can do telekinesis as well as any of his race, but he can't seem to read the minds of humans (which comes naturally to his race). His race's tribunal accused him of being lazy, neglecting his mental studies. When he opened his mind for the tribunal to read his thoughts, they thought this was so absurd that they accused him of "thinking deceitful thoughts", a major crime on their planet.
As a punishment he is to become an envoy for his race, and member of a mostly-human ship crew.
