Day 4
Today the menu is very simple ... Leek and Potato Soup followed by Mince Pies.
I don't have any pre planned ideas for what I'm doing each day. I start with what we're having for dinner and then figure out what crockery to use and the colour scheme ... now to go think about tomorrow's set up :)
Day 6
I set this up last night, as I was out all day today, and sadly this setting didn't get used, but never mind, I enjoyed putting it together.
This is the table design used as inspiration for the "Promises" cake. The diamond patten on the table cloth, use of pearls (see them in the vase!) and ivory and brown color palette were the focus of the cake design.
Day 25/31
It was lovely and sunny in the afternoon, but by the time we sat down to eat, it got dark quickly.
The fourth of July has been a family tradition of having a family get together at my home with a picnic and ending the evening with shooting fireworks ourselves and watching the towns fireworks at the end of our lane.
I like to set the table, but don't do it every day.

I don't cook a roast every Sunday, but this week I decided I would.
I also set the table to sort of commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE day.
Day 25
Merry Christmas everyone.
Not a particularly Christmasy setting, but neither is our Christmas fayre.
We will be having 2 grazing platters, a savoury and a sweet, which I'm now about to go and prepare.
I do have a top tip for everyone ... if you are arranging flowers covered in glitter, it is a good idea not to do them on the table where you are going to display them, as my plum coloured tablecloth is now covered in glitter :))
PS ... those of you who shop at Sainsbury's might recognise the plates and glasses. I "bought" them in October and they were free, as my accumulated Nectar points paid for them.

The table is set for this evening.
The local pub are charging £39 per head for a 4 course Valentine meal, although one of those courses is coffee! So what with a bottle of wine, that would be about £100 for 2 us.
However, me being a cheap skate, went to Sainsbury's and bought 2 £15 Valentine meal deals, some veg and a box of choccies, all for about £40.
He's got salmon mousse, sirloin steak, chips, lemon tart and white wine. Whilst I have baked camembert, duck leg, dauphiniose potatoes, chocolate torte and rose wine. And we'll have that 2 nights runnning.
Yes I know I'm still in the kitchen, but it is all very simple to do.
Trying to encourage spring to bring it on!! Got my handcrocheted lace tablecloth, roses table runner made from pillow cases and of course my pink bowls and vintage china!
Day 13
This evening there will be a Garlic Mushroom and Potato Frittata with Salad, followed by I don't know what, yet, but maybe just a mince pie and a satusma.
i went for sushi/japanese food yesterday, and the day before.....i can never get enough of it....sushi not displayed here....i ate it all =)
