Amazing, Mid-Century, monumental glass lamp we found at a thrift store. It had sat there for months before we came in and grabbed it. Perhaps its size scared people off, but we could see its beauty. Read more about it on our blog.

It stands out nicely in certain lights. Almost makes me wish I'd wired in a small LED in the base just to illuminate it... darn.

How to Buy a Table Lamp
Origin: France. Circa: 1880. Period: 19th Century. Diameter: 5¼" | Height: 10½". Rare dimunitive cameo glass table of mushroom form decorated shade and base with "Day Liliies", signed Galle on base and shade. It was made originally as a lamp, not drilled, with original bronze d'argent fitting for shade and lights.
This Flip camera was my prize for winning The Picture of the Month of September 2010 Contest on Steves-Digicams.com Video has more detail in better light. Took this with the light from two 100 watt tablelamps and a small fan light in the ceiling. Probably a heck of a lot of noise reduction, but I think it came out really well for low light. I was also closer than the minimum focus distance.
Outside it's dull, grey, dismal and damp so I prowled the house looking for suitable subjects for today's image. Instead of my newer cameras, I opted to use my 2003 vintage Fujifilm F700 - a chunky silver aluminium cased beauty that was once top-of-the-range in compact digital cameras.I bought it reconditioned from a camera shop the day before I visited London's world famous Chelsea Flower Show for the very first time. I love this little camera which saw me through the Open University's T189 Digital Photography course. In my humble opinion, this nine year old digital camera could give many much more expensive modern compact digital cameras a real run for their money!
This is the shiny and rather old fashioned fringe on a slighly faded pale blue table lamp that lives in our Art Gallery. I'm really quite pleased with this image and its crisp definition.
