The Bagpuss Chair - just an old, saggy leather chair, baggy, and a bit loose at the seams, but we love it.
Used a tripod and two very low power output flashes, on board nd sb600, just to put enough light onto this side of chair to be able to pull some detail back, really wanted main light to seem to be the table lamp - I think its worked.
A minimalist statement in form and proportion. Tube Top combines a transparent formed acrylic base to support its elegant mesh fabric shade in tension steering away from conventional modes of construction. Its lightweight shade appears to float freely gently tethered by its fabric cord. Its remarkable illumination is controlled bya full range dimmer to create any desired ambiance.

TOY LAMP: COWBOY
Artist: Julia McLain
9" x 9" x 48" tall
Around 2007
Handcrafted: Mosaics, vintage toys and illustrated by artist
Each were constructed from existing lamps. I dremeled out the toys. Each took about a month to complete.
I mosaicked the base of all lamps. The stands are all made out of old (and some new) squeeze toys, banks, Sippy cups and Christmas ornaments. I hand constructed all the lamp shade frames then papered them. Each shade is illustrated using imagery inspired by vintage toys, games and other memorabilia. The shade is coated with acid free glue. The final touches for most are very fine crystal lamp prisms. The circus lamp is finished off with vintage tensile. Each has been expertly checked by lamp specialist. A very low wattage bulb is advised.
NOTE: These lamps are designed for adults and not children as they are fragile works of art.

This lamp is hand blown in a mould. The glass bubble diffracts and diffuses light through both its form and texture.
It's designed by Pierre Favresse, 2010 and produced by Petite Friture.
HDR of a Table Lamp
Made with Photomatix out of 6 pictures. Three images were taken with the camera's AEB function (0,-2,+2 EV) for each of the two areas marked in the picture on this site to get a series for the darker areas and one series that does justice to the glowing bulb.
These were saved in the RAW format and imported into Photomatix Pro 4 where the HDR was created and tone mapped with the Details Enhancer method. I selected the default preset and modified it as follows:
- Strength: 100
- Color Saturation: 33
- Microcontrast: 7
- Smoothing: -2
I played a little with the White Point setting but realized that the default value (0.250) is appropriate here.
After the image was processed, the result was tone mapped again with the same settings. And this result again, was tone mapped another time.
The result of the third tone mapping was then post-processed a little in GIMP.
I copied the image to another layer and blurred it with the gaussian algorithm with x/y values of about 60 (for an image of 5184x3456 pixels) in order to lose all the crisp in this layer and get a smooth version of the image. Then I added a black layer mask (full transparency) to the blurred layer and put it on top of the unmodified layer. I selected a smooth brush and white as front color and set set opacity to 60-80%.
Then I painted the layer mask with this brush in the areas that appeared too rough in the original version, thus merging to some extent the original with the smoothed version of the picture in the selected areas.
I'm very happy with the result, but I'd be happy about some comments, nonetheless. :)
If you know what I can do to get even better results, let me know.
If you like the picture, don't hesitate to tell me so.

Fabulous!!
I've shown an up-close of the graphic on this table lamp in another photo but I just think the entire lamp is lovely! And just so Sex and the City!! With the right shade this baby will really shine!

When we found this vintage thermos hiding on the back of a shelf in a local junk shop we knew exactly what it wanted to become. A bit of soap and water and the installation of a couple of light bulbs and "Fly Me to the Spoon" was born!
This aluminum thermos features a new red "curly" bulb at the base to simulate rocket fire and under the red cup, a flashing red C7 bulb to guide this rocket through space and time.
Component is mounted to a relcaimed marble base with new wiring and in-line rotary switch.

Then i thought, maybe i should write that in red ink. The ink ran, and a few ideas later i got this. It's a bit on the emo side.
