The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company has been providing visitors with a world-class experience since October 4, 1929. The company operates in a National Park and World Heritage Site.
The mountain’s magnetism has a way of drawing people in, compelling them to reach the summit. But getting to the top was not always the effortless trip it is today.
My husband, Bean brings me coffee every morning and lights candles on my bedside table. What a wonderful way to wake up. I sure love him!
(Miroslav Mika Antic)
Blending exotic wood and two levels of glass creates a coffee table that is a functional and contemporary conversation piece.
The wood’s curved shape comes from careful cutting on the scroll saw. It is then sanded and finished with a clear lacquer to maintain that glossy shine.
The two glass shelves are made of Plexiglas. Each are cut on the scroll saw and then sanded to fine tune the shape.
The legs are aluminum threaded posts and rivets.
Bloodwood is sometimes referred to as satine or cardinal wood, for its obvious beautiful deep rose color. With age it's color does darken, but not significantly. The growth range of the species is reported to include French Guiana, Brazil, Peru, Panama, Venezuela, West and Central Africa.
This table’s dimensions are approximately 1 ½ inches tall, 5 inches wide, and 3 ¼ inches deep. Width and depth are at the widest and deepest points.
Felting table shown from other end of studio...Should have waited until the yard was tidier to snap this one:-)
We were just wandering around the Knightsbridge-Belgravia neighborhoods, looking at the architecture mostly, when we came upon this empty table on an empty street (the corner of Motcomb and Kinnerton Streets, close to Belgrave Square). It was particularly incongruous as there was no restaurant around to which it could have been connected. Perhaps it was an artist's installation from the art gallery there (although the gallery was closed)?

One of three Chris has made for his brother's office in D.C. in the past few years. This one is made of all reclaimed lumber.
The pouncing effect is interesting, but not really 'grain-y'. I still have to touch up the other red chair before staining it as well.
