I used all my flowers in the flower beds as bokeh, I had to find the right angle, it took a few shots, I focused in on the Poppy, found the sweet spot and a got a rainbow of twisty bokeh.

Have a fabulous Saturday, I'm off to make me a pretty dress. Got a vintage pattern and some lovely fabric. Hubby taking me out to Dinner tonight, we not been anywhere in a year, not even for my 50th or 51st as we seem to be in permanent lockdown. Anyway we got ourselves a table and we off out on a dinner date tonight. I will of course make a matching mask to go with the dress, not sure at what point we take the mask off to eat.... strange new world.

For Macro Mondays Redux 2021 I combined the themes 'Star' and 'Motion Blur'. In this case the star is a set of five cookie cutters so you could say the theme 'Five' is also incorporated, but that only occurred to me afterwards.

Taken over looking the Grand Canyon the tree had a interesting trunk and the background just added to the scene.

The gateway to the wave. It couldn't be more perfectly formed by architects or artists... a really spectacular show of layers under some really ominous thunderclouds... just as I arrived the rain began. I was probably holding my umbrella while shooting this with one hand... a little shaky perhaps with lightning and thunder threatening to completely ruin the days plans... and night setting in.

Two elastic bands kept in freezer than layed them on a black board and lit with a flashlight.

A gnarled and twisted dead tree in Arches National Park, looking south to the La Sal Mountains, October 2015.

Moving from the Desert into the Metropolis that is Dubai I was stunned into disbelief at how this city has evolved in the 4 years since I last visited. Rather than the normal shots that appear I decided on a boat trip and took my images from the sea. The sun was directly above me and it was 50 degrees. Not ideal for taking photos but I wasn't going to miss any opportunity. The architecture is breathtaking so please forgive me if I over post.

Twists and turns are very narrow and absolutely beautiful within the narrow ridges of the Red Colored Canyon. You can see the paths that the water took reflected in the winding, swirling shape of sandstone slot canyons. Venturing into one of these narrow, descending canyons can be like entering another world.

Slot canyons are hard to spot when scanning the landscape as they hide in the rocky, barren-looking desert.

A slot canyon is a narrow canyon, formed by the wear of water rushing through rock, typically sandstone and limestone. A slot canyon is significantly deeper than it is wide. The formation of slot canyons is a long and complex process that begins with the deposition of sedimentary rock. Over millions of years, these sedimentary rock layers are exposed to weathering and erosion, creating canyons of various shapes and sizes.

An Autumnal woodland photograph from the Howardian Hills, taken on a foggy day.

Thank you to everybody that views, comments and for favouring my images. Always greatly appreciated.

there were a lot of interesting dead pinyon-juniper trees with twisted trunks and limbs....I like the detail in this one, as well as how it framed that rock formation in the background, which my imagination sees a mans head with his mouth open....

It's just a tree, with no leaves, on a country road. That's all.
