After a long summer break beginning in May, the cape daisies are beginning to bloom again now ... they probably are still in South African 'mode' !?
With a sudden change in direction, this great egret (Ardea alba, Ardeidae) gave me a different sort of twisted pose with some great back-lighting.

A rainbow twist lollipop turned out to be the perfect subject for this week's Macro Mondays theme of "Candy". Actually Licorice All Sorts was my first pick but no All Sorts were to be found in my area. The lollipop measures app. 1 inch X 1 inch.
