Managed a quick shot before he flew off. I love their pretty layers of feathers which showed up really well in this shot.

Tui. Stewart Island NZ. He had just chassed a pigeon out of his tree. Very combative birds Tui's!

Tui's in the trees at Manu Bay Raglan NZ

Seen in this image is a Tūī on a kōwhai tree, NZ. The kōwhai tree seen in the image was given to us as a house warming gift when we moved in our home four years ago. It was just a wee plant when we got it and it took two years for it to mature and flower and this is the very first image I’ve managed to capture of the sole tūī that visits it :)

Best thing about lockdown is I get to see my local tūī out the window while working.

The Tui were very active at the bird feeder on Tiritiri Matangi Island bird sanctuary.

Seen in this image is a Tūī (Parson Bird), NZ...

The Tuis are out in force loving the red bottle brush which are all in bloom. Very hard to get a photo as they like being in the middle of the tree and they are continually moving.

Sorry the ISO was high hence the noisy image.

With the kowhai flowering early, the tui are coming out too.

On finals 25L at BRU-EBBR. Mind the yellow colored winglet. Most probably on loan from its German TUI-branch where they have a few 737's in the yellow livery.

A tui is sitting in a tree near Albert Park in Auckland, New Zealand. Tui's are native to New Zealand, and they're known for their white 'beard' and grey feathers in the neck.

I love New Zealand's birds, and will be posting more here soon.

The Tui is one of New Zealand's most recognizable birds. From a distant, it looks rather drab black, but in the right light the blue, green and bronze iridescent sheen become apparent.

Tui's are quite common and have probably benefited from the introduction of a variety of flowering and fruiting plants.

They are quite a beautiful bird.
