Tower of the parish church in Trumpington, a village just south of Cambridge.

The church is dedicated to Mary and Michael, with its oldest parts dating to around 1200. The tower is somewhat younger (ca 1330), and the whole church saw extensive renovation work in the 19th century - most notably by the Gothic Revival enthusiast William Butterfield (which I am sure impacted the work done).

The Petronas Towers are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur. They were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004. The towers are constructed largely of reinforced concrete with a steel and glass facade designed to resemble motifs found in Islamic art.

Tower Bridge is one of the most impressive structures and sites in the capital and has stood over the River Thames since 1894. Broadway Tower is a "folly" on Broadway Hill, near the large village of Broadway, in the English county of Worcestershire and was constructed at the second-highest point of the Cotswolds. In architecture, a "folly" is a building constructed primarily for decoration, but suggesting through its appearance some other purpose. The tower itself stands 65 feet (20 metres) high.

This "Saxon" tower was the brainchild of Capability Brown and designed by James Wyatt in 1794 in the form of a castle, and built for Lady Coventry in 1798–1799. (Wiki)

Cabot Tower a historical landmark located on Signal Hill a National Historic site in the City of St. John's on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador Canada

Cabot Tower is a tower in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, situated on Signal Hill. Construction of the tower began in 1898 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's discovery of Newfoundland, and Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.

In 1901, Guglielmo Marconi received the first trans-Atlantic wireless message at a position near the tower, the letter "S" in Morse Code sent from Poldhu, Cornwall, United Kingdom. Cabot Tower is now the centre of the Signal Hill National Historic Site of Canada,] with walking trails and an interpretation centre.

Located at the highest point of Signal Hill, overlooking the city and the ocean, Cabot Tower is an example of late-Gothic Revival style. Built of irregularly coursed red sandstone, it is composed of a two-story, 30 foot, square structure with a three-story, 50 foot octagonal tower that stands on the southeast corner of the building. The corners are buttressed at the first floor level and further emphasized through the use of heavier blocks of stone. On the main body of the building, at the top of the second storey level, is a line of repeating pattern like an exaggerated dentil row or inverted crenelations. The attached tower, which houses the main entrance, is very plain with a double string course marking the divisions between second and third storeys and heavy corbel tables marking the eight corners of the turret at the flared upper level. The windows on both the corner turret and the body of the tower proper are rectangular and set under heavy stone lintels.

The architect of Cabot Tower, William Howe Greene, was a prominent St. John's architect and an associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Wikipedia

In recent years, about 1% of the Monument's 400,000 annual visitors climbed Devils Tower, mostly using traditional climbing techniques.

The arch is very large, with a 92-foot span. It is far from the largest Arch within Arches National Park. But the awe-inspiring immensity of Tower Arch comes as much from its impressive size as it does from its depth, and solid presence.

From this vantage point under Tower Arch, one can not see much of the large tower after which the tower is named. The base of that tower is on left. However, one can see a smaller tower which isn't visible from other vantage points.

Light trails through London's Tower Bridge

This time last year I was starting to prepare for my trip to Italy. After touring from Milan down to Sicily, we visited Paris for just one day.

I wish I had better photos of the Notre Dame Cathedral, which unfortunately I do not. The few I do have are very bright with tons of tourists standing in front. Perhaps when I can find some time I will try to do some editing to salvage the images.

I do however have a number of photos I took of the Eiffel Tower. This is one of my favorites from the day.

Round and round :) The small tower is only a staircase with beautiful steps made of stone, worn out during some centuries.

Thanks for visits and faves, comments highly appreciated and will be responded a.s.a.p!

The Centralia Bell Tower(aka Centralia Carillon)is the 10th largest bell tower in the world. It is still in use, requiring the tower's carillonneur to climb nearly 200 steps to put the bells into motion to create beautiful music. The tower contains 65 bells, the largest weighing 5 and a half tons...

Cool falls and little trail with it. The trail to the base of the falls has been closed for a long time and wasn't open when we were there. More touristy then I prefer, but if it is along the road you are driving it is a good place to make a stop and stretch the legs for a moment.
