Broadway Tower is a folly on Broadway Hill, near the large village of Broadway, in the English county of Worcestershire, at the second-highest point of the Cotswolds (after Cleeve Hill). Broadway Tower's base is 1,024 feet (312 metres) above sea level. The tower itself stands 65 feet (20 metres) high.
The 'Saxon' tower was the brainchild of Capability Brown and designed by James Wyatt in 1794 in the form of a castle, and built for Lady Coventry in 1798–1799. The tower was built on a beacon hill, where beacons were lit on special occasions. Lady Coventry wondered whether a beacon on this hill could be seen from her house in Worcester — about 22 miles (35 km) away — and sponsored the construction of the folly to find out. Indeed, the beacon could be seen clearly.

My summer sailing trip photos often include Toronto CN Tower shots .. though nature makes each one a little different.
Hurlestone Tower was built in 2000 near Lilburn in Northumberland. It was built by the owners of Lilburn Tower, to celebrate the new Millenium. The tower is an observation and conference venue built in the style of a country house folly. It is named after the nearby Medieval Hurl Stone.

The best time to visit London is before the masses, this was the sunrise at 6am and only a few people to share it with (other photographers!!)
You never know what you're going to get when getting up at 3am but this sunrise as definitely worth the effort!
Pretty old stair in a small tower of castle Kaltenstein.

Nghinh Phong Tower is located at Nghinh Phong Square in Phu Yen. located on Nguyen Huu Tho beach in Ward 9, Tuy Hoa city. This place is a symbol for the city as well as the tourism architecture of Phu Yen Province. The tower work will be divided into two parts, each part will have 50 adjacent stone blocks. These stone blocks are the image representing 100 children in the legend, divided into two halves with the meaning "to the forest - to the sea".
A bit of a classic but seeing as I was walking over Tower bridge I thought why not!!
Typically, as soon as I set up, no buses came along and more and more people stopped in front of me, but still, I'm reasonably happy with the result!
The Głogów Tower is a remnant of the former Głogów Gate. It is a 6-storey building with a clock and numerous loopholes. It was built in the 15th century and was part of the city's defensive wall system. After 1770, the partial liquidation of the fortifications began.
In 1962, attempts were made to save the surviving fragments of the walls, sections of the walls and the tower were rebuilt.

Perched on a hill above the village of Llanarthne, Paxton’s Tower looks out on the Towy Valley. Built over 200 years ago, the majestic tower is in fact a folly built in memorial to Admiral Lord Nelson and to impress the people of the valley.

If you have time I would highly recommend you taking a steep climb out of Broadway Tower towards the Broadway village. This really enjoyable walk is going to take you through the Cotswolds fields full of lambs and absolutely breathtaking views. If you get tired on your way down you can enjoy a little break on one of the benches (if it’s not already taken by the local lambs) and get lost in the tranquility of the Cotswolds view. If you like picture-postcard villages with honey coloured buildings, Broadway village is going to delight you with its rich cultural heritage.
Next time you watch TV look out for Broadway Tower which has been featured in a number of movies and television programs including Sherlock Holmes, The Gemini Factor, Interceptor and Crush.

I shoulda taken my tripod with me .....here's a shot of this special falls in Yellowstone. The trees cut off the rest of it.
"Approximately 1,000 yards (910 m) upstream from the creek's confluence with the Yellowstone River, the fall plunges 132 feet (40 m). Its name comes from the rock pinnacles at the top of the fall. Tower Creek and Tower Fall are located approximately three miles south of Roosevelt Junction on the Tower-Canyon road.
In August 1870, the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition camped near and explored the Tower Fall area for several days en route to Yellowstone Lake. In his 1871 report to Secretary of War Gustavus C. Doane, a member of the expedition described Tower Falls thus:
"Nothing can be more chastely beautiful than this lovely cascade, hidden away in the dim light of overshadowing rocks and woods, its very voice hushed to a low murmur, unheard at the distance of a few hundred yards. Thousands might pass by within a half mile and not dream of its existence; but once seen, it passes to the list of most pleasant memories. In the afternoon the remainder of the party arrived, having lost the trail on the previous day."
A well-known painting of the falls by Thomas Moran in 1871 helped persuade Congress to set aside Yellowstone as the world's first national park in 1872." Wikipedia
A long exposure of the local landmark in the day's last light. This is the tower you can see across the water in my previous post. The clouds were crawling at a snail's pace, hence I let it go for over two minutes. Lots of little hotspots of noise to remove - I hope I haven't missed any. Tripod, cable release and 10 stop ND filter.
The stone of Coyote Buttes has been eroded by wind and water over Eons into a myriad of forms. The minerals seeping and collecting along concentration gradients give the rock its sharply defined colored layers . This one is called the Control Tower.

Tower of the parish church in Trumpington, a village just south of Cambridge.
The church is dedicated to Mary and Michael, with its oldest parts dating to around 1200. The tower is somewhat younger (ca 1330), and the whole church saw extensive renovation work in the 19th century - most notably by the Gothic Revival enthusiast William Butterfield (which I am sure impacted the work done).

The Petronas Towers are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur. They were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004. The towers are constructed largely of reinforced concrete with a steel and glass facade designed to resemble motifs found in Islamic art.
Cabot Tower a historical landmark located on Signal Hill a National Historic site in the City of St. John's on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador Canada
Cabot Tower is a tower in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, situated on Signal Hill. Construction of the tower began in 1898 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's discovery of Newfoundland, and Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.
In 1901, Guglielmo Marconi received the first trans-Atlantic wireless message at a position near the tower, the letter "S" in Morse Code sent from Poldhu, Cornwall, United Kingdom. Cabot Tower is now the centre of the Signal Hill National Historic Site of Canada,] with walking trails and an interpretation centre.
Located at the highest point of Signal Hill, overlooking the city and the ocean, Cabot Tower is an example of late-Gothic Revival style. Built of irregularly coursed red sandstone, it is composed of a two-story, 30 foot, square structure with a three-story, 50 foot octagonal tower that stands on the southeast corner of the building. The corners are buttressed at the first floor level and further emphasized through the use of heavier blocks of stone. On the main body of the building, at the top of the second storey level, is a line of repeating pattern like an exaggerated dentil row or inverted crenelations. The attached tower, which houses the main entrance, is very plain with a double string course marking the divisions between second and third storeys and heavy corbel tables marking the eight corners of the turret at the flared upper level. The windows on both the corner turret and the body of the tower proper are rectangular and set under heavy stone lintels.
The architect of Cabot Tower, William Howe Greene, was a prominent St. John's architect and an associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Wikipedia
