a nice day in Venice, May 2016

View of Malham Cove, Yorkshire Dales, UK.

Walking around in Paris during my holiday travel here, gave so much inspiration, creativity and fun. The city is ful of motives and oportunities to make great shots.

The receding Fox Glacier in New Zealand. Meltwater rushes into the bottom of the frame, surrounded by a muted palette of rocks which were ground into fragments as the glacier advanced.

One from the archives. Not much to photograph on the beach at Glenelg during sunset. Definitely more a swimming beach than a photography one.

Baobab trees before an incoming storm hit, Ruaha National Park, Tanzania

Part of a three week adventure taking in Tanzania's southern and westerly parks of Ruaha, Katavi and Mahale and the eastern islands of Zanzibar and Mafia.

Slottet Shopping was a shopping center in Kvadraturen in Kristiansand. Slottet Shopping was located at the end of the city's main street, Markens gate, with the address Tordenskjolds gate 9. In the Slottsquartalet there were, in addition to the shopping center, also offices, residences and one of the city's largest parking garages. The center closed in 2020.

In the vernacular, the building mass has long been called "The Castle". The reason for this is that the original building's position was compared to Karl Johans gate in Oslo, where the Royal Palace marks the end of the main street.

Dont look at the the yellow car, I parked there before I could change my mind.

...or they could just be grey. Melting ice from the Franz Josef Glacier in Westland Tai Poutini National Park, South Island, feeds the icy waters of the Waiho River.

Lured by the swirling, opalescent flows, and having decided not to pack waterproof boots, I made the mistake of wading into the glacial waters.

Excruciating.

Even five minutes later when my lower extremities had partially numbed, it was still as if red hot needles were being driven into my legs from all sides.

Agder is a county (fylke) and traditional region in the southern part of Norway.[3] The county was established on 1 January 2020, when the old Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder counties were merged.[4] Since the early 1900s, the term Sørlandet ("south country, south land, southland") has been commonly used for this region, sometimes with the inclusion of neighbouring Rogaland. Before that time, the area was considered a part of Western Norway.

The area was a medieval petty kingdom, and after Norway's unification became known as Egdafylki and later Agdesiden, a county within the kingdom of Norway. The name Agder was not used after 1662, when the area was split into smaller governmental units called Nedenæs, Råbyggelaget, Lister, and Mandal. The name was resurrected in 1919 when two counties of Norway that roughly corresponded to the old Agdesiden county were renamed Aust-Agder (East Agder) and Vest-Agder (West Agder). Even before the two counties joined in 2020, they cooperated in many ways; the University of Agder had sites in both Aust-Agder and Vest-Agder, as did many other institutions, such as the Diocese of Agder og Telemark, the Agder Court of Appeal, and the Agder Police District.

The Rubicon is the marina area of Playa Blanca on the Spanish Island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.

A dawn photograph from the archives; rough seas in the morning made for the rocks on the shore appearing as if they rose from mist. Managed to salvage a few shots between furiously wiping down the lens.

This picture was shown in tonight's weather forecast for Norway.

Bystranda (The City Beach) is a Blue Flag beach in the southeastern part of the downtown of the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located just east of the mouth of the river Otra.

The shallow sandy beach by the Kristiansand Boardwalk consists of fine filled sand.

By Bystranda there are seating areas, bathrobes stairs, sand volleyball court, skate ramp, playground, and restrooms. At the plant of the bathing beach was emphasized that it should be accessible to children and the disabled.

Bystranda is popular on hot summer days.

Close to Bystranda is the indoor water park Aquarama.

Oslo West Station (Norwegian: Oslo Vestbanestasjon) or Oslo V, is a former railway station located in Vika in Oslo, Norway. It was the terminus of the Drammen Line between 1872 and 1980, until the Oslo Tunnel opened. The station remained in use until 1989, when all traffic was moved to the new Oslo Central Station. Until its closure it was the main station for trains on the Sørland Line, the Drammen Line and the Vestfold Line. There was no passenger rail connection to Oslo Ø, the eastern station that served the eastern lines and trains to Bergen. The only connection was the Oslo Port Line that went partially through some of the most trafficked streets in Oslo.

The station building was designed by architect Georg Andreas Bull in the then-fashionable Italiante style and built of plastered brickwork. The facade against City Hall Square is flanked by two low towers. Windows and doors are arched. After the station closed, the building was used by, among others, the Nobel Peace Center.

Casa Loma is a castle built in Toronto, Canada, in the early 1900s by the richest financier at the time. He spent millions to build 98 rooms, 30 bathrooms, 25 fireplaces and much more. The castle is now a tourist destination and event venue. The Italian stained-glass dome in the Conservatory with the grapevine theme was designed by the Robert McCausland Studio in Toronto. This work of art is backlit with 600 light bulbs so the beauty of the glass could be seen by day or night.

Just had to do a new edit of one of the images that haven't worked on before that i have from a fun morning at the cove with the sunrise glow showing thru the cave. It was almost is as good as watching the sun rise atop a mountain...

Torvet i Kristiansand is the main square in Kristiansand city and stretches from Øvre torv by Wergelandsparken to Nedre torv, where it joins the city's shopping street (Markens gate). The square follows Rådhusgata, which has been extended on that stretch so that the place is an open space.

Torvet has a significant tradition as a trading place for peat traders. It also has other functions and for a number of years it was a terminal there for the bus routes of the Bybussen, and it was also a main terminal for the city's taxis there. Torvet's former function as a terminal for pedestrians made the place a traffic center with many customers. In Rådhusgata by the square there were several well-established shops, and also in the immediate area around the square to the south and north in Kirkegata and in Markens gate. Developments in the use of cars and the construction of other shopping centers are also important for these trade shifts.

Dominant buildings on the site are the Town Hall, Kristiansand Cathedral and Kristiansand Public Library. Beneath the entire Torvet is a large parking facility. wikipedia

...To keep up the relentless torrent of seascapes from the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia.

This is the Maison du Roi, located in Brussels' Grand Place. Interestingly, despite its name, no king ever lived there; it served as an administrative office. The current building is a 19th-century reconstruction with neo-Gothic details, housing the Museum of the City of Brussels, where you’ll find the Manneken Pis costume collection. Fun fact: during the Middle Ages, the site was actually a bread market before becoming an administrative center. While its ornate façade amazes visitors today, its simple origins don’t take away from its beauty—they just make it even more intriguing.

Another photo from Bedruthan steps, the fantastic beach at the Cornish Westcoast. This is the view after descending the steep and slippery steps down to the beach. We were lucky with the tide being out which left us enough time to explore the beach with it's many caves and rocks. Highly recommended!
