I roughed up the compacted clay beneath the concrete and added three inches of compost before putting in sod. Having spent 20 years ripping out lawn in California, installing it in Baltimore was a new process. But it was a good choice for dogs and environmentally a plus. It does not need chemicals or irrigation and in fact slowed stormwater run-off. Because it is not treated with chemicals, it is a bay friendly ground cover.
Dawn & Glori reside on my dresser-I have such fond memories of these dolls. Notice the hand made outfits. My mom made these for me when I was a little girl-she even made Dawn's boots. The other I found at a thrift store-I believe she is a clone.
