I have FINALLY got round to making a hand painted cupcake/cookie topper.
I drew Matilda freehand and coloured her with rainbow dust colours. I think she looks ok for a first attempt. I will put in some more practice, buy a larger range of colours (as I was limited to what I had in my cupboard) and see how I get on.
I hope to do some more of these and to take one of Natasha's classes to improve my technique and get a bit faster!

The birthday girl wanted to keep the kitties so I carefully removed them and brought them home with me to put on a plaque for the birthday girl to keep! Also it's given me another idea option for a cake topper!

This table topper, from the book "Charmed and Dangerous" from Anka's Treasures was my first project with charm squares (Mary Englebreit prints from Moda).The outer border is not in the original pattern (and I'm not totally in love with my choice of fabrics for it). Overall, it's a bit too loud, I think, but might work well as a table topper (after it's quilted, of course).
some gorgeous toppers bec from crystal couture gave me a while back and i have been waiting to have something to use them on for pics for her so i used my carla 21st madhatter as a prop for her before i added the real toppers i made ;-)
