Perhaps I should have titled this, "don't look if you are squeamish." I was surprised and rather grossed out, after uploading shots of a Yellow-shafted Flicker, when I saw this one of the bird seeming to savor the grub it was about to swallow.

Would have titled "Message in a bottle" by The Police but chose this Arctic Monkeys' song instead. Spotify just rounded-up my most played songs for 2020 and "Do I wanna know?" was my number 1 song. Not even surprised as i play this everyday since last April..at the office, in the car, while jogging 😊

Westminster Abbey, formally titled the Collegiate Church of St Peter at Westminster, is a large, mainly Gothic abbey church in the City of Westminster, London, just to the west of the Palace of Westminster. It is one of the United Kingdom's most notable religious buildings and the traditional place of coronation and burial site for English and, later, British monarchs. Between 1540 and 1556, the abbey had the status of a cathedral. Since 1560, however, the building is no longer an abbey nor a cathedral, having instead the status of a Church of England "Royal Peculiar"—a church responsible directly to the sovereign. The building itself is the original abbey church.

Titled because it was taken as the Sun went down that day, but also because it has been mostly overcast since. The Sun will be back, and I have have more to show from the West. Just taking a little break with winter leaves on Groundhog Day.

Originally titled "Wir schlafen nicht" (in German) this book by the author Kathrin Röggla wasn't very memorable for me. Still I can appreciate what she tried to do in her book and the title inspired me to create this image.

One of my attempts at the "Smile on Saturday" theme "portray a book title".

Shot with an Ilex "Oscillo-Paragon 88 mm f/1.4" on a Canon EOS R5.

I titled this "Those Talons" for obvious reasons. This female Snail Kite just picked up this snack and was transferring it from her talons to her beak in the air. Almost all the kites at this lake are banded, as was this one.

Titled because I had fun changing a plain white house ornament to this. Also works out for my 100x 2023

I titled this picture puzzling because I find it curious that the imprint of the vintage camera on the paper appears to be so much smaller than the stamp that produced it, even though the stamp was placed on the paper just behind the imprint. It's apparently a matter of perspective, and the angle from which the photo was taken.

Titled because all though shot in August, it was not a very august day weather wise, heavily overcast and showery, the water looked almost malevolant... so i shot purposely dark to accentuate this aspect.

Carr Mill Dam is located north of St Helens town centre in Merseyside. It is the county's largest body of inland water, and offers lakeside trails and walks, as well as national competitive powerboating and angling events. It is home of Lancashire Powerboat Racing Club established in 1923 where club, national and international powerboat racing takes place.

Once just a mill pond built to power Carr’s Mill, this was expanded in the 1750s to provide water to the Sankey Navigation, (Sankey Canal), about a mile away. The lake is a favourite with anglers and water sports enthusiasts. It is also a great place for birdwatchers.

Carr Mill Dam

The name Carr Mill traditionally came from the Norse word 'Carr' meaning marsh or fen. The dam is shown on the 17th century Yates map. A corn mill was operating there in the 19th century as it is visible on the first Ordnance survey map of the area, the dam having been doubled in size. There is no record of anyone named Carr having a mill there. This area was part of Lord Gerard's estate, and the dam was further enlarged by the London and North Western Railway during development of the railway system and cast iron marker posts are still visible at two points around the dam.

Carr Mill Dam is also the location of St. Helens' only ancient woodland running alongside the railway line.

Titled this because I did not see the reflections of the windows in the face of the clock when shooting. This was shot on Kent Street AKA the main street in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada

The grandiosely titled Langden Castle is in fact - a barn. Mind you, there is nothing else for miles around. Eerily remote in the winter conditions, even the sheep have moved to warmer climes.

Located at 4946 Dundas Street West is this Village of Islington mural, titled The Pub with No Beer, by John Kuna, 2009. The accompanying plaque for this mural says:

Coordinates: 43.64814 -79.52947

Map

This mural depicts a scene from the prohibition era (ca. 1928) with a pop truck rounding up empty bottles outside of the old Islington Hotel, which was once a local watering hole. At the time Burnhamthorpe Road was on the west side of the hotel and the hotel's drive-shed stretched across what is now the intersection of Dundas St. West and Burnhamthorpe Road and Cordova Avenue.

Titled this cold reflections due to the fact that there is snow in the bottom right. This day was the best day I've had at Loch Leven, so serene and so calm. Perfect photo conditions me thinks.

Titled in honour of Michael Buble who played in our neck of the woods last night. Bare Island, Waimarama beach, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand

I titled this photo 'Wet sunset' because of the trees that have 'wet feet'. Though it hasn't rained today, it has rained a lot over the past weeks, so the ditches and pools in this nature reserve are fuller than usual. Luckily, pollard willows can survive wet conditions.

The open window of the small factory was about seven feet off the ground. I couldn't even see the screen of my camera for the shot on the left. The one on the right is where my feet had been as I stood on tiptoes.

Working on some old images for a portfolio (as suggested by photography monthly) ! Time to try some gallerys and maybe make a pound or two!

Titled "How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter?", this series is made up of ten sets of image and text. Each set expresses the 'moment' in which I explore a place in a photograph and then two written descriptions: one by me, considering my mental health, thoughts and feelings, and one by (best friend and accompanying adventurer) Michael with his version of events. The series tracks how photography has changed my interactions with the world, from being isolated to being able to get out and explore.

You can see a few examples of how it was presented here:

Tim van Zundert - How long had I been gone?

If inhabiting the world at night taught me that I could stand in the middle of roads at a whim, why not go to places you just shouldn't? Places that are closed off to the public after dark aren't necessarily closed to those who find their way in. At Cowdray Ruins, we wandered the grounds as if we had every right to be there.

This piece is titled "Confetti" -- in the fall of 2012 I saw falling leaves as confetti, and it's stuck in my mind since. This nature-confetti was particular magical because of the contrast between the yellow leaves and the blue sky.

The painting titled 75 BC, based on 'Billy Connolly' by artist John Byrne, on the corner of Osborne Street and Old Wynd will no longer be visible after Glasgow City Council granted planning permission for a £40million development.

The apartments, from Glasgow-based Ambassador Group, will create 273 bed spaces with state-of-the-art resident amenities including a student lounge, gym and a south-facing terrace with views towards the River Clyde.
