Two modern re enactors recreate the famous Times Square kiss, a photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt which portrayed a U.S. Navy sailor kissing a total stranger after grabbing her, a dental assistant, on Victory over Japan Day in New York on August 14, 1945. The photograph was published a week later in Life magazine, among many photographs of celebrations around the United States that were presented in a 12-page section in the magazine entitled "Victory Celebrations"

New York City is always such a vibrant and active place! Everything just throbs with energy and life! Yes, things here may not always be perfect, but I could not imagine living anywhere else but here. I Love New York!
This is a 3 shot HDR image, done with Photomatix and then run through Photoshop.
I know it's out of focus... Its a representation of the varied colours and lights in Times Square...
Times square is always good time for halloween, and while out testing the Sony A7s it didn't disappoint.
I saw this wonderful couple recreating the V-J Day in Times Square photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt so I quickly ran over to get a few shots through the crowd.
Tonight thousands gathered in Times Square to watch the Mars Curiosity rover safely land on Mars after a 352-million mile, 8.5 month journey.
Seeing so many people gathered on a late and rainy Sunday night was truly awesome to experience. People were captivated by the images being displayed on the Toshiba screen at Times Square and listened closely to the audio broadcast over their phones. When the rover landed, Times Square erupted in a loud cheer followed by chants of "Science! Science! Science!" and "NASA! NASA! NASA!"
It was really incredible to see so many people collectively captivated by science and exploration.

I've been hanging out in Zuccotti Park in my off-time the past month and have had a lot of good conversations with people. As for Times Square, i HATE that place; but i felt obligated to go there this past saturday along with thousands upon thousands of others. Had a great time witnessing this commercial hell-hole get pretty much shut down for a couple of hours. Also got caught up in some crazy stuff in terms of police abusing their power (but then again i've witnessed that first-hand many many times before this). I'm happy to have not been arrested...Anyways, I am very inspired by this movement and I am so happy to see it continue to grow.
*there are a few inconsistancies in the stitch-up due to the lighting changing drastically from left to right, sorry...*
