Three Pronghorn Fawns Conspiring
These three hoodlums are obviously conspiring to pull a prank on their mom just out of frame. They jump around bouncing and playing as you might expect to see. These are legitimate triplets as I know the mother. She was enormous compared to the other pregnant Pronghorn Does in the area. I have watched them for hours now. Mom is relatively skinny having given birth to these three. Plop, Plop, Plop with no Fizz, Fizz I’m thinking.
“They are tight as three knots on a rope they are” 👀 . Yes they play most of the time when mom’s well used spigot(s) or sleep isn’t on the menu. I hope for the mothers sake that the grasshoppers this year aren’t going to be competing for this dry years vegetation. The grass crop is going to be hurt by this insect attack I’m afraid in this area anyway. More good timing. Waiting for the asteroid impact in 4 ,3 ,2 ,1 …..
I was lucky enough to completely circle this group with a box o’ cameras. If I am very careful and drive like a cow grazes, getting close is just a matter of time. I have to drive slowly through high grass these days as there are indeed fawns both Deer and Pronghorn potentially laying there unseen. (I only drive off trail on ground that I own).
One of my advantages taking photos is I’m very agile getting around to get the light and my subject properly oriented to each other. Owning the land, not having nearby boundaries to prevent me from moving into position. I could never approach these weeks old Fawns on foot. The Pronghorn mother wouldn’t allow it so zip gone…. My truck is my portable blind. In the Black F-150 Raptor, I must seem like a noisy grazing Black Angus to them. I need a horn that makes a moo sound on it. Think that might void the warrantee?? 😜 📷

Taken at Old Tucson Studios in Tucson Arizona February 4, 2010.
Over 300 films and TV shows have been filmed at Old Tucson and is a popular attraction. In fact it was voted the "Best Western Movie Set" by True West Magazine. We're talking about John Wayne movies like Rio Bravo, El Dorado and even the Ronald Reagan's movie The Last Outpost. This mission was featured in Three Amigos starring Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, and Martin Short.
Taken with my PENTAX K20D, using my Pentax 16-50mm lens at a focal length of 21mm with a 35mm equivilent of 31mm exposing at an aperture of Æ’11, a shutter speed of 1/400, an ISO of 125. Using Photoshop I helped the perspective, and stylized the photo.
From left to right: My brother Garth, me, and my brother Jon. Garth was the instigator, and my big brother Jon was my protector. That was my room of course.
Happy days.

Me (right), Dustin, and Qui a few years ago at orchestra camp. It was the first time I took a picture of people lying in the grass, and it's one of my favorite ways of taking portraits ever since.

These three gents, participants in the Mayo Pink Ribbon cycle for breast cancer research looked the real deal at the start of the event!
I do not, unfortunately, have a shot to show them after they completed the 100 K event! I bet by then they had built up quite a thirst! I bet they knew how to deal with it too!
The three amigos,
BP Ryan,DALEGOFREAK, and Tyler F.
Those two are some of my only "good friends here on Flickr.
(Sorry Alex and Nick...you guys are awesome too)
Heading off from Vincent's to go a 'long way round' to Sammy Millar's Italian bike ride in day..
Superb ride through bits of the New Forest I had not seen before! (see map)
Lots of nice bikes at the museum ride in too..
It looks like just a wall, but this guys were actually sitting on the rooftop of a building, enjoying the wonderful views over the city of Brussels, which this place provides.
Probably one of the best viewpoints in Brussels, specially at sunset.
If you know how to get there, then, enjoy the views. Don't forget to bring a few beers with you!
"Solid Gold" combo on the menu, with a "Goldmine Cheesecake " which is a New York Cheesecake with chocolate fudge on top and a oreo crust. Ala mode with chocolate ice-cream and a drizzle of more hot fudge to top it all! Yummy!
It's reputably the best cheesecake by NYDC and we couldn't disagree!
