Class 7 students during a Mathematics class being taught by Ramadhan Sarumbo at Idugumbi Primary School in Mbeya, Tanzania. The school has benefited from a collaboration with the Kuyenda Collective youth, they have launched a significant initiative to gather resources from parents and community members, including farm produce, oil, salt and other cooking necessities, to provide lunches for the students. This effort has enabled more children to attend school and pursue their education.

Taught by Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies Holly Ewing (blue jacket with red-tasseled hat), ENVR 203 - Scientific Approaches to Environmental Issues visits Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary as part of its lab work.
An introduction to central concepts in environmental science-the function and interrelationship of physical, chemical, and biological systems-through the study of specific environmental issues. The laboratory links field studies of environmental systems to the scientific concepts and tools environmental scientists use. This course serves as the foundation for further study of environmental science at Bates.
The americans taught us this game, you can't make eye contact with someone that is doing that "hand mask". If you make eye contact you have to lay on the floor, no matter where you are. It kind of gets annoying though.
Os americanos nos ensinaram este jogo onde você não pode fazer contacto visual com alguém que esteja fazendo esta "máscara de mão". Se fizer, você tem que deitar no chão, não importa aonde estiver. Tem uma hora que começa a encher o saco.

He taught me everything about true love and he had an important role in my life: the decision to become a veterinarian! Love animals with all my heart and my baby just showed me the right way to go! Certainly, the vaccination against rabies had an important role to keep this baby with me for many many years.. s2

This is Louise.
This weekend she will be traveling to Bristol Tenn. to see her very 1st Live Nascar Race! She is having me tag along to take pictures cause she has no hands and can't take them herself.
So we're off to the races. Gotta drive from San Antonio to Bristol. Be back Monday...unless it rains.
Have a Great weekend!

I taught Mako how to fry eggs. That was a while ago. Then I drug his ass over to this little kitchen I built a couple months later to re-enact the lesson. This is a commemoration of that event. I am the Egg Queen.
I dropped those eggs. I admit it. Mako is probably less clumsy than me.
Taught this spring by Ann Pibal, Chromophilia is a visual arts course. All photos were taken by Briee Della Rocca.
Heather taught me how to skip stones in the loch, something that I had never been successful at doing before. The secrets are a very flat stone and making your throw low and parallel to the water. Here she is in action!
Taught by Ben Bish, I believe, to catch a salmon that's about to be thrown by The Bear of Pike Place Fish. Pike Place Fish was quite a show watching them throw fish back and fourth as people bought them.

I taught my boyfriend's mom how to make jewelry. At first she was nervous because she says she's "not crafty".
"be BRAVE!" I told her.
As it turns out, she's got an amazing sense of color and design, and she's made a lot of beautiful things. Even better, she's having a lot of fun.
To encourage her creativity, I took photos of all her jewelry and set up a little shop for her on Etsy. She thinks it's the best thing ever!
It is taught that a Monarch butterfly will lay her eggs on the underside of milkweed leaves. This is true most of the time but not always as seen in this photo.
The eggs are 'glued' onto leaves and will remain on leaves even when washing off aphids with a strong spray of water.
Monarch females usually lay a single egg on a milkweed plant, often on the bottom of a leaf near the top of the plant. Eggs are only about the size of a pinhead or pencil tip and are off-white or yellow, characterized by longitudinal ridges that run from the tip to the base. The eggs hatch about four days after they are laid.
As females lay their eggs, they secrete a small amount of glue to attach the eggs directly to the plant. Female monarch butterflies lay an average of about 700 eggs over two to five weeks of egg laying.
Each egg is formed inside the female prior to fertilization, including the hard outer shell, called the chorion, which protects the developing larva inside. The shell is lined with a layer of wax, which helps keep the egg from drying out. The eggs have tiny funnel-shaped openings at one end, called micropyles. These holes penetrate all the way through the shell allowing sperm to enter, since eggs form their hard shell prior to fertilization. The raised areas on the egg shell are called ridges, they are also formed before the egg is laid. The dark head of the developing caterpillar can be seen near the top of the egg prior to emergence.
