The rolling hills of the Palouse are a thrill to explore and photograph. I drove along dirt roads at random just to see what I could see and I was not disappointed.

St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta, Malta

This is one of 29 17C tapestries from the Gift of Glory exhibition depicting episodes in the Life of Christ and the Triumph of the Catholic Church which are currently on exhibition in the cathedral until late June this year.

They were commissioned by the Grand Master of the Knights of St John, Frà Ramon Perellos y Roccafull, between 1697 and 1702. This particular tapestry depicts the Last Supper.

Anyone visiting Malta before 24 June should try and visit the exhibition if they can and also see the two magnificent Caravaggio paintings hanging there. www.stjohnscocathedral.com/the-co-cathedral/the-tapestrie...

This goniodorid nudibranch has a complicated colour pattern. The body is a mosaic of brown patches which contain white spots, interspersed with orange. The rhinophores, lateral papillae and gills are cream with brown patches.

Silverton, CO....have a great week!!!!

I love this Oakleaf hydrangea at this time of the year. The colours and textures become so rich. The remains of the blooms are the colour of polished cherry but with a heavily textured surface.

A tapestry of autumnal colour blankets the landscape at Nellie Lake, Ont., where Ontario Northland EMD SD70M 2122 cuts an imposing figure with tonnage bound for Cochrane.

From the archives: After my initial trip to Yellow Rock, I returned 3 times, and am thinking about another trip. I first saw this intricacy of textures carved by erosion overlaying patterns formed by oxidized minerals flowing through porous sandstone at the Wave, 16 miles to the south in the same formation. I find the whole spectacle mesmerizing.

This isn't going to win any contests, but I think it's quite fascinating.... we've had quite a cold snap lately, and this is the glass in my shed door all covered in ice. I added a bit of colour to bring out the cool textures.

Well perhaps I got woken by the small earthquake last night but here is a scene of the tapestry of plants from the Dandenong Ranges National Park, enhanced with some AI images. Friday, May 26 was sorry day and the Australian Rules Footy has been playing a Dreamtime Round. So this is an acknowledgement of the issues faced by our indigenous peoples.
