The drill was the final assessment in a series of evaluations conducted to certify the combat systems readiness of Bonhomme Richard as the ship prepares for an upcoming scheduled deployment. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
