May I help you stands out

Did you know that in Hindu mythology there is a strong, beautiful warrior goddess, who rides a tiger or lion? She is none other than Durga, the invincible. Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva created Goddess Durga, as an avatar of Ma Shakti using their energies, to save devalok, where the Gods resided and living beings on earth from demon Mahishasura, as neither of the three could vanquish the demon. Goddess Durga, with weapons provided to her by the three Gods took over the task of vanquishing Mahishasura. She came to earth to kill the demon Mahishasura. After a long and hard battle, she killed Mahishasura and restored the heaven, devalok to the Gods, which was previously acquired by him.

Worship of Durga

Ma Durga as she is fondly called, is invoked for protection from the powers of evil. The triumph of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura symbolizes the victory of good over the evil. Durga Puja is observed for her victory. Ma Durga has been worshiped from about 400 A.D or probably earlier than that, to the present time. The day of victory is celebrated as Vijayadashami or Dussehra.

Navaratri

The actual period of the worship however may be on the preceding nine days, Navaratri followed by the last day called Vijayadashami in North India or five days in Bengal. Nine aspects of Durga known as Navadurga are worshipped, one by one during the nine-day festival. In South India especially Andhra Pradesh, Navaratri is also celebrated and the goddess is dressed each day as a different devi meaning goddess.

The word devi in Sanskrit means divine or a shining presence. The nine manifestations of Durga worshipped during Navaratri in the month of Ashwin of the Hindu calendar are Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Skandamata, Katyayani,Kaalratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidaatri.

The Garba

Durga is associated with two mountain ranges, the Himalayas in the north and the VIndhyas in central India. In Mysore, which originated from Mahishasooru in Karnataka, she is worshiped as Chamundeshwari, the patron goddess of the city during Dussehra. In Gujarat it is celebrated as the last day of Navaratri, during which the Garba dance is performed to celebrate the victory of Durga as ‘Mahishasura-mardini’.

Durga puja

‘Durga Puja’ is celebrated in Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Tripura, Assam and Bangladesh. The Goddess is worshipped as Mother Durga or Ma Durga, the Mother Goddess being the symbol of all the true qualities which define the Supreme Being. Durga is the representation of infinite power and purity, which resides within every being. The Devi Mahatmya or Devi Mahatmyam is a Hindu philosophical text describing the Goddess as the supreme power and creator of the universe. It is part of the Markandeya Purana. It is recited during Navratri celebrations, the Durga Puja festival, and in Durga temples across India. UNESCO has accorded the Intangible Cultural Heritage tag to Durga Puja on 15th December, 2021.

Lilium candidum, the Madonna lily, is a plant in the true lily family. It is native to the Balkans and Middle East, and naturalized in other parts of Europe, including France, Italy, and Ukraine, and in North Africa, the Canary Islands, Mexico, and other regions. It has been cultivated since antiquity, for at least 3,000 years, and has great symbolic value since then for many cultures.

The white lily symbolizes chastity in the iconography of the Catholic Church and some of the Orthodox churches. For example, Medieval depictions of the Annunciation show Gabriel the Archangel handing a white lily to the Virgin Mary. Additionally, the white lily is the attribute of other virginal and chaste saints, such as Saint Joseph, Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Maria Goretti.

The lotus flower symbolizes spiritual enlightenment, purity, self-regeneration, and rebirth. Its emergence from murky waters into beauty and glory has been seen as a metaphor for human life, in which difficult times can be overcome with resilience and dedication.

Cardinal birds are a symbolic bird as it symbolizes positivity amidst the troubles we experienced in our life. There is a quote about this belief that goes, “Cardinals appear when Angels are near.” Because of this, many have been associated with Cardinal sightings in their property to their departed loved ones.

ASTERS (Callistephus chinensis) symbolize patience, elegance and daintiness and are indicative of ‘a love of variety’.

In Greek, Aster means star, named so for its star-like blossoms. Asters have daisy like flowers with a yellow or yellow/green center.

They come in colours of yellow, white and all shades of purple from the palest lavender to deep purple.

Lungta (Windhorse) are prayer flags made in five cardinal

colours of yellow, green, red, white and blue, symbolizing the

five elements of earth, water, fire, air and earth respectively.

The silent prayers are blessings spoken on the breath of nature. Just as a drop of water can permeate the ocean,

prayers dissolved in the wind extend to fill all of space, quietly harmonizes the environment.

Outer Level: Mythical Creature

On the outer level, the lungta is a mythical Tibetan creature from pre-Buddhist times that combines the speed of the wind and the strength of the horse to carry prayers from earth to the heavens.

Inner Level: Positive Qualities

Lungta is associated with positive energy or ‘life force’ and with ‘good luck’. It is both the subduer of evil and the vehicle of enlightenment.

The lungta symbol is often depicted on prayer flags, which are flown to generate merit and increase one's life force. Lungta prayer flags typically display a tiger, a snow lion, a garuda, and a dragon, (the four dignities) with a lungta in the center. Certain lungta prayers also refer to these four symbols.

The tiger, snow lion, garuda, and dragon are ancient symbols of the qualities of lungta that originate with pre-Buddhist Tibetan and Chinese astrological traditions. Generally, they symbolize the fearlessness and resilience of lungta. (See Shambhala: The Path of the Warrior.)

The increasing area of the square backdrop behind the figurine gives off an impression of endless regularity which symbolizes routine.

The Square of Kyiv Intellectuals is one of the most creative sights of the capital. The main feature of the park is bronze bird sculptures, each of which identifies a certain image of representatives of the intelligentsia.

Kyiv sculptor Konstantin Skritutsky depicted the urban intellectual in the form of a bronze kingfisher - a bird that stands on a concrete pedestal with a cane under its wing, bowing its head. It would be happy to fly away to warmer lands, but it has become so accustomed to it that cannot do this - it’s a shame...

“As for me, this image best symbolizes the Kyiv intelligentsia. By its nature, the kingfisher is a very shy bird - it constantly hides its head under its wing, as if it were ashamed of everything that happens around. With my work I want to show that from the general callousness and inertia, the Kyiv intelligentsia has become an endangered species, which is time to be included in the Red Book. But the intelligentsia exists, and it should actively manifest itself in all public affairs. This is a kind of friendly cartoon that should make the intellectual think," - the sculptor is convinced.

Düden Waterfall: The waterfall which is one of the natural beauties that symbolizes the city is located approximately 10 km northeast of Antalya city centre. It falls down from a height of 20 metres. The main source of the stream is in Kırkgöz area. However lower part of Düden Waterfall is on the road to Lara Beach. It is on the southeast of city centre and floods from 40 metre high cliffs. It is one of the natural beauties that symbolize Antalya.

antalya.bel.tr/i/waterfalls-and-natural-parks

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antalya

Düden Waterfalls are a group of waterfalls in the province of Antalya, Turkey. The waterfalls, formed by the recycle station water, are located 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) north-east of Antalya. They end where the waters of the Lower Düden Falls drop off a rocky cliff directly into the Mediterranean Sea.

A group of Düden Waterfalls consists of two waterfalls, Upper Düden Waterfalls and Lower Düden Waterfalls.[1]

At the 28th and 30th kilometre markers (17 and 19 miles) of the old route from Antalya-Burdur (which goes through Döşemealtı town), two big karstic sources appear. These sources, Kırkgözler and Pınarbaşı, merge after a short flow and disappear into Bıyıklı Sinkhole. Some of the sinkholes can swallow a river or lake. In this region, the Suğla (Konya) big sinkhole and the Bıyıklı sinkhole output 30 cubic metres per second (1,100 cu ft/s). This quantity is the output of Kırkgöz and Pınarbaşı springs at inundation.

The water, which disappears at Bıyıklı Sinkhole, travels 14 km (9 mi) underground and comes out again at Varsak pit. After a very short fall, it disappears again from the other end. The water which disappears at Varsak goes underground for 2 km (1.2 mi) and comes out again at Düdenbasi, by pressure made by a syphon. The water which falls from Düdenbasi is the water coming from Kepez Hydroelectrical Complex.

A regulator built in front of the Bıyıklı Sinkhole directs the waters of Kırkgözler and Pınarbaşı into a canal to the Kepez Hydroelectric Plant, where a pressure pipe carries it to a balancing funnel and drops it over the plant's turbines.

The water from the plant's discharge unit is brought to Düdenbaşı again by a long canal, where it forms artificial cascades. From there the amount of water is that of a large river. Seven irrigation trenches distribute the water to land north-east of Antalya.

After Düdenbasi, the waters of Düdençay separate into a number of streams and finally, east of Antalya, cascade 40 metres (131 ft) from a platform into the Mediterranean. A park surrounds these waterfalls. They can be seen from the sea by taking a boat trip from Antalya yacht harbour.

Black tulips symbolize power and strength. Their mysterious and elegant shade depicts royalty. Origin: Black tulips are a rare hybrid of tulips. Absolute black tulips are very hard to achieve, but there are many mixtures of purple, dark wine red or velvet maroon that are closest to pure black. Seen at the Big chair in Thomasville. NC.

I sometimes think I should look for a really ugly frame...an abstract black goo or such, to symbolize all that is ugly in this world; all that is wrong and evil.

But perhaps a shot like this is more poignant. Out of the blackness there springs hope.

If there is that which is 'wrong' in this world, then there is also that which is 'right'. If there is truth, then there is truth that is absolute. The world would have us believe there is no absolute truth...but I would encourage all those who have not found it, to seek it out. For if there is absolute truth, then there is the one who set it in place...and that is where we find hope.

Today, I am thinking of a Flickr acquaintance who is grieving. Lean on the hope that is everlasting...

In 1899, the Collingwood Council identified the need to erect a Modern elevator, but due to low water levels, construction was delayed until 1929, when the Federal government agreed to pay for dredging.

The two million bushel grain elevator has bins 100 feet high and 22 feet in diameter. The steamer MUNISING arrived in September 1929 with 228,000 bushels of American grain, the first shipment for this important new structure, the third grain elevator in Collingwood's growing economy.

Grain service stopped in 1993, ending 64 years of operation for the cement elevator and 123 years of grain trade in Collingwood. The terminals, now owned by the Town of Collingwood, continue as a modern day landmark.

A door can symbolize many things in our lives.

It can be something that represents the hope of possibilities;

the promise of new opportunity. It can convey the idea of change or transition. Sometimes it signifies prevention.

We often use the expression, 'when one door closes, another one opens' and it seems to be a truism in life. We think we know exactly what we want to do, or have, but despite our best efforts and how frequently we try to smash our way through, the door remains firmly shut. That's when frustrations can be calmed with the notion that perhaps there's something better ahead than we're presently aware of if we're patient and vigilant.

The phrase, 'the door of opportunity' is another truism and sometimes when we think back on our lives we can see where we successfully took advantage of the moment and the opportunity presented to us. Conversely, one of life's regrets can be the open door we ignored.

"What's it going to take to open the closed door?" We know we need, or want, to get to a certain position but some type of key is required. Many times that becomes a time of emotional, spiritual or intellectual pursuit of an answer to a mystery.

I suppose it's also true that doors can be the stuff of nightmares. What frightening thing is on the other side? But for the mostpart, at least to my way of thinking, a door can be a golden opportunity.

Did you know that, aside from symbolizing longevity, peaches also safeguard health? Yep. Holistically speaking, the fruit is considered as medicine for everything from rheumatism to colds to nurturing the soul.

A "Peach Girl" in America is a vessel of joy and kindness, like a peach's healing medicine is to the soul. People are excited when they see her coming and are sad to see her go because she brings life through her words and heart.

She is also diligent with her work ethic, and very trustworthy - for she keeps her word and follows through on a commitment, no matter how small it may seem.

The [1 Hundred.] Sweet Peach Tee & Shorts Outfit is a perfect blend of comfort and sass. The sexy combination of its cropped tight tee (with its fun graphic peach print), and its hot little denim shorts will certainly catch a lot of attention.

This [1 Hundred.] Sweet Peach Tee & Shorts outfit fits Maitreya, Legacy (+Perky), and Reborn (+Waifu) mesh bodies. Its Fatpack comes with Blue, Blush, Lilac, Pink (shown), Tan, and White colored tees to choose from.

The statue was erected on the top of Sololaki hill in 1958, the year Tbilisi celebrated its 1500th anniversary. Prominent Georgian sculptor Elguja Amashukeli designed the twenty-metre aluminium figure of a woman in Georgian national dress.

She symbolizes the Georgian national character: in her left hand she holds a bowl of wine to greet those who come as friends, and in her right hand is a sword for those who come as enemies.

Love locks are a romantic tradition of attaching padlocks to landmarks to symbolize everlasting love. The tradition is believed to have originated from a Serbian story about a couple who pledged their love on a bridge before World War I. The tradition has spread globally and can be found on bridges, lamp posts, fences, and monuments.

There are several places to find love locks near the Golden Gate Bridge, including:

Battery Spencer overlook in Sausalito.

The National Park Service discourages the practice of attaching love locks because they can damage structures and pollute the area with discarded keys. In 2015, a section of the Pont des Arts footbridge in Paris collapsed due to the weight of the padlocks.

Lucky me :-) I shot this image yesterday during a hike in a forest in Holland

2022 = 6 in numerology

6 = Symbol of Love & Romance, the symbol of luck and is the highest number of the dice!

Bible interpretation is a mammoth number representing the creation of Man - man was created on the 6th day. Symbolizing man and our human weakness

Interestingly the satanic number is the triple 6! = 666 = Mark of the Beast.

The next few years we will witness Quantum Leap forward for humanity on a scale never witnessed before.

Buckle down, be prepared for rapid changes - something most of us are not adept to coping with.

In the year 2022 it is a time for transformation from within, sometimes not of our own free will.

Remain in touch with your feelings and emotions, listen to what your body is telling you.

Whilst the world around us continues to spin out of control now is the time for each of us to draw on our own STRENGTH - to rise above the dysfunction we will witness.

It will be a time for much more awakening for humanity. More and more light will shine on humanity exposing the dark.

It will be a time when the shadow is truly exposed both on a world scale and at an individual level.

It may be a time of great upheaval for many as systems, foundations we have believed to be real suddenly become clear to us are crumbling from beneath us.

Challenging yes absolutely, and with this may come a great deal of personal grief longing for how things used to be. Hold your light it is returning like never before into the hearts and minds of humanity.

This will be a great time for Transformation from within sometimes voluntarily, sometimes we will be shaken into it and at other times we will be stirred into transformation - but TRUST, as always through these times when it is easy to focus on the dark - always there is TRANSFORMATION that takes place.

At these times nurture yourself in whatever way you can, laugh, meditate, listen to music, reach out - help is there like never before for humanity.

Grief is always a great transformer. We will witness collective grief along with personal grief. Become like water, fluid, flowing, allowing and embrace the light and the Love that will help to transform you on a quantum scale.

Collectively we are each shifting consciousness and this shift is more LOVE, more LIGHT for new and better ways of being in this world.

We will see more justice new ideas birthed forward to benefit humanity - the old is being dismantled, the corrupt, the wicked, the dysfunction, conflict and separation will no longer be sustained on our beautiful earth.

Humanity will become more united, we will feel it, we will see it clearly we will be supported spiritually, emotionally as the Christ Consciousness expands into the minds of men. We will be asked to find more patience, more compassion with others who may be resistant to change.

Focus on what you require for yourself in the new year of 2022, set your intentions and whilst it is so easy to focus on the negatives of this world. It is time now to focus on all that we are grateful for.

The year 2022 (all those 2's!) representing UNITY - it is the year when we have the opportunity to make quantum leaps in transformations individually and come truly into our inner Strength and become a stronger Light force of Love on the planet.

WOW no more powerful emotion than LOVE

If faced with Grief - please remember this - when we grieve either individually or collectively - whilst it may feel like our hearts are broken, it too shows us an insight into the great LOVE we have in our hearts. I am always amazed even in the darkest days of grief the overwhelming LOVE that is felt within and from others.

That is the gift and the blessing in GRIEF - an opening of our hearts. That may sound strange to many, but it is very real.

As Val xox posted recently in a photograph: ⳽ᖾᥲttᥱɾᥱᑯ ɠꙆᥲ⳽⳽

Happy New Year everyone

Mushrooms and toadstools also symbolize male fertility and virility because of their phallic shape. In China, the mushroom symbolizes long life, happiness and rebirth. Mushrooms are the food of the Taoist immortals. In China, it's believed the mushroom will only grow in peaceful times, thus it is a symbol of successful government. Some African and Siberian tribes regard mushrooms as symbolic of the human soul, In Mexico, the sacred mushroom signifies knowledge and enlightenment. Some Western myths show fairies and elves sitting on mushrooms and toadstools

Spring flowers, April 2022

Dogwood flowers are most often used as symbols of rebirth. These flowers are closely connected to Christianity.

White dogwood flowers most often symbolize innocence, purity, and spirituality.

Superstitions about eggs - Eggs symbolize fertility, so farmers would scatter broken eggs into their fields hoping they would bring forth an abundant crop. Also, if you break open an egg and find two yolks, that means someone you know will be getting married or having twins. And when you're cracking your egg, make sure to crush the eggshell afterward: otherwise, legend has it, a witch will gather up the pieces, set sail, and cause terrible storms at sea.
