Black and white Cake: Half dark chocolate. Half white chocolate. The glaze & the dough! Inspired by the classic NY cookie.
Red Velvet Cake: Naturally colored, with a cream cheese filling and glaze and sprinkled with red velvet cake crumbs.

Another day, another time for sweets. This time at Doughnut Plant for some things I’ve never tried before. Here are four out of five of the doughnuts I’ve had here. My favorites were the red velvet cake & the black and white cake doughnuts due to their fluffy texture and rich flavors. The Valrhona Chocolate doughnut tasted a bit off, and coffee cake was decent.

Lighting:
• x1Lume Cube 2.0 Mini LEDs , mounted on top of my Manfrotto Pixi Evo tabletop tripods on opposite ends of the table.
Other things used:
• Sandwich skewers to support the tower of doughnuts not falling over.
While storm is raging above, I was thinking of my mom's kitchen, the aroma coming out of it, her delicious pastries, strudels, cookies and cakes, was thinking of her golden hands.... I was thinking about all those things that can warm up your heart while cold outside....

This is an image I made for a recent article I wrote on the trichrome photography process (you can find it here).
The result was made by combining differently filtered exposures made on Ilford HP5 Film using my 4x5 camera. Red, green and blue filters were used to get information for each of the colour channels for later `reassembly`.

Every time I see those cute pastel colors, all together, I think one of these days I might cave in and eat one... judging by the face, she was ready to make me a costumer! LOL

In accordance to Shutter Sister's One Word Project, I'm grateful for friendship, chocolate... and cupcakes of course :)
I must admit, I have a bit of a sweet tooth and I absolutely adore baking and decorating. I believe if I hadn't decided to become an artist I would have gone to culinary school to become a baker and cake decorator (in fact, I still think it's a dream that may become reality).
I also have a mild obsession with Food Network (favorites include the fabulous Barefoot Contessa and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) and any shows involving the hectic world of cake, such Amazing Wedding Cakes and Cake Boss
Thank you from the very bottom of my heart to the talented, friendly, sweet Kris for her lovely testimonial. Her gorgeous, well-crafted images and her thoughtful musings on life never cease to make me smile. I am so happy to have stumbled upon each others streams.

My daughter went to the store this morning and came back with this huge lollipop. She opened it and was about to go at it, when I screamed "STOOOOP!" She of course looked at me like I was crazy and offered me some...I just fell out laughing!...I have been dying to actually remember to make an image for my dear friend Stephanie's group called Sweet Sunday. And today well I finally remembered! Sooooo here is my 1st image for to the group! :)
This was kind of meaningful to me because is actually the last Sunday before my baby (even though she is the oldest) will be 16! Wow! She will be a birthday girl on Wednesday! (Forgive me for continuing to mention it, but I'm am still trying to allow it to sink in )
My wife made me a cup of tea and offered me one of these lovely delights!!
