This plant is so lovely.......I thought it was a bleeding heart but.I'm not real sure.......

Heidelberg...

Not sure of the history behind this building located on the northeast corner of the courthouse square in Jasper, Tennessee. I am also not clear on the name of the building...I suspect it is either named after someone whose last name happened to be Lawyers or this was the building where all the lawyers in town set up shop somewhere between 1920 and 1954. Either way, I really like the style and architecture of teh building and thought it worthy of a photograph.

Image was taken during my trek to photograph all 95 county courthouses across my home state of Tennessee...now revisiting in order that the courthouses were photographed!

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

Shot for this week's Macro Monday theme, shadow. I know, it is a silhouette, but it fits the brief. And to be very literal, I used a semi opaque sheet to cast the shadows onto, which is what the photograph is of. In case it is too obscure, the scene is supposed to be reminiscent of the shower scene in Hitchcock's Pyscho. Yes, it should be a knife, not an axe, but it didn't look as good. Not sure where the inspiration came from- perhaps I've been cooped up in the house for too long with my family...

55mm manual lens, F4, automated shutter and tripod. A smokey acetate sheet was placed between the Lego figures and the camera, with a a ring light shone from behind. I smoothed the background a bit (as I picked up a lot of dirt/ damage on the acetate) using an inverse selection and a Gaussian blur in Gimp.

If you want to escape, make sure you leave your shit behind. It can drag you down.

Message to boat owner: pull your boat above the tide line to stop it being swamped like this. Finns are not used to tides and the sea level changing. Normally there is hardly any tide in the Baltic Sea. But there was on this day

I'm not sure that is an official water feature - it quite possibly is although you never can tell in Thailand. There is a restaurant under the canopy - you can see the diners dangling their legs over the canal

Not sure what kind of plant this is, but it was begging for a portrait among some more colorful wildflowers. Undeniable.

Not sure how many TLJ figs I wanna make. Definitely Rey and Luke, and I might make more depending how I like the film.

For Luke, I wanted to start him right away, but couldn’t find the right hairpiece, so I took the LNM Cole hair, and resculpted the front. I’m so happy this happened because the hair now looks perfect to his hair style in the movie, apposed to the Anakin hair or Luke hair.

The head was the Luke face from the final duel set, I sculpted the beard, and painted some face details.

On the torso, I sculpted a layer of pro create so that the fabric sticks out a bit. I glued the fabric to the front and sides of the torso. I used e tape for the belt.

The legs were painted dark brown, and I wrapped etape for the layered parts. The boots were painted brown.

I also used etape for the cape and for his gloved hand.

The entire fig except the head and hair were black washed.

Actually really happy with this fig. Torso and legs are pretty simple, but I’m really happy with the likeness and hair!

Thoughts and Suggestions appreciated!

Not so sure that this food in this environment is a healthy choice. Let's give it a shot anyway.

I'm never quite sure what to do with river photography. I see images other people post and I really enjoy them, but when I get down to the water I don't quite have a good feel for what I want to capture yet. I waded into this river a few feet above a 4 or 5 foot little fall so the current was up quite nicely. I tried several different compositions that included various rock formations and trees on the bank, but this is one of two that I really think are keepers. I love the single rock among the stationary waves. Maybe it's late and I'm tired, but this image has been growing on me since I took it and is quickly becoming one of my favorites from that trip.

Also, I took this photo right after injuring my leg in the river. It's actually still marked up and quite sore as I sit here ready to post this almost two months later. I did manage to keep the camera dry. :)

Not sure if this is the most iconic signal shot in Ohio, or the south end of nearby Deshler? Due to a 3 hour drive to get here from Coshocton, I always seemed to just miss this, or be distracted by NKP signals to the east or west as something went through on the B&O. It took me a while (have lived in Ohio going on 4 years now) but I finally nailed it to my liking. The Lima based local crew is heading home after a day of working customers along the busy Toledo Sub. Like many other spots, the days are numbered for these signals as new can be seen bagged in the distance. I just wish I would have informed WAK so he could have removed the graffiti from the tower. The 6482 was built for the Seaboard Coast Line (Family Lines) in 1980.

Not exactly sure about species here, but at least we can tell it is a female of some sort of leafcutter bee (Megachile sp.).

Megachilid bees are always cool, but as a photographer I like this shot primarily for how I managed to nail the focus on the face of the bee while it was still flying before landing on this woolly burdock (Actium tomentosum) in Åva-Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park.

Hmmmm, not sure which was the intended topic by the owner of Gold Point, Nevada. Was it the bedframe, the miner equipment above the porch roof, the bordello sign or the traffic signs? My intended topic is the boring bench on the porch.

Happy Bench Monday!

BTW, much of Goldpoint is owned by Herb Robbins who demands a "donation" for the privilege of viewing the relics he scavenges from nearby abandoned mining outposts. Herb explained the "donation" is designed to allow him to avoid paying taxes on his income. The more you pay, the more you get to see. Wilbur and I only paid $10.00 each so most of the buildings remained securely locked during our visit.

Goldpoint seems like a rusting theme park. None-the-less it is a fun place to visit if you are in the vicinity, as long as you are unconcerned with authenticity. And bring plenty of cash.

Wow, I sure miss days as warm as this one!

This weekend I'm gonna be racing in the 2nd flight in Sunfair. Which is this huge cross country meet with over 100 teams competing. I think I have a pretty good chance to win my flight, which is for the 6th fastest guy on the team. And if I do, I get some shoes! And I might even get interviewed by dyestat.com, and have that video be seen by thousands of people. That would be pretty cool!

No HDR this time, just some purty colors and contrast :-)

5G97 Haymarket Depot to Haymarket Depot. Class 43 HST Intercity 125 set in Scotrail Inter7citys livery seen here at Cowdenbeath station. having followed me up from Haymarket (platform 0), I can only assume this some kind of mileage accumulation run with the set having had some major repairs? It looks like a fitter and driver in the cab having just changed ends and not even that sure if an HST is that common on the Fife Circle.

Not sure about this one. The clouds we did have were gone very fast, so that we got a pretty boring after glow instead of the pink clouds we hoped for. It was boring -pretty boring -but I loved to watch the fishes conjure rings on the surface of the water. Well not in front of the cam of course - so I began to through stones imitating them.

There will be nothing new that is for sure!

Not sure this camera was ever used. Given the condition, the cute little form factor and the price—$10—I had to buy. Unfortunately like almost all these models, the focusing is frozen, as is the film winder and aperture adjustment. Not sure I want to marinate it in solvents and fix. It might just sit on the shelf.

'Dartmouth Castle is one of a pair of forts, the other being Kingswear Castle, that guard the mouth of the Dart Estuary in Devon, England (grid reference SX885503).

A small fortalice (coastal fort) was built in 1388 under the direction of John Hawley (rumoured to be the basis for the Shipman in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales).[1] The present Guntower building is the earliest surviving English coastal fortress specifically built to carry guns. It was built by the corporation of Dartmouth between 1481 and 1495 and additions, including open-air gun platforms, were made during the 16th century by Henry VIII and again in the 17th century in order to accommodate new military technology.

During the Civil War it was besieged for one month and then taken by the Royalists, who then constructed an earthwork fort above the Castle at Gallant's Bower to protect its landward side. After being held by them for three years it was attacked and taken by Sir Thomas Fairfax for the Parliamentarians in 1646. The castle continued in use as a working fort until the nineteenth century, when it housed no fewer than five huge 64-pdr cannon on traversing carriages. The 19th century Gun Battery is the most substantial remaining part of the castle and itself remained in military use throughout the First and Second World Wars, overlooking the D-Day preparations in the latter.

The castle comprises two linked towers — one round and one square — and sections of wall, the whole of which is built upon a rocky promotory, very close to the water's edge. A church, St Petroc's, is immediately adjacent to the structure.

Dartmouth Castle is now in the ownership of English Heritage'..

Sure is cold outsdie - not as cold as some parts of the country - but cold enough to stay inside and play with flowers.

Not sure if it was me or the rays from the sinking sun that was doing most of the dancing. The sea was lively and I had to dodge some significant 'splashes'. Managed to avoid a soaking though. Lovely to finally get out for a few minutes!

Portwrinkle is a small coastal village in south-east Cornwall. It is at the western end of Whitsand Bay. It was traditionally a fishing village and the old 17th century walls of the pilchard cellars are still standing, although they have been incorporated into housing. The village has two beaches that are accessible from it, one of which has a harbour.

oops I ruined a good peafowl but sure I can leave a light on for you
