FORT BRAGG, N.C. --- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District completed this $11 million Training Support Center in April 2011, which serves as a central location for all Army training aids, products and devices on Fort Bragg. Additionally, the 118,700 square-foot facility includes 12 training rooms where Soldiers use advanced video gaming technology for virtual weapons training. The sophisticated technology mimics real world battlefield scenarios and provides Soldiers with useful feedback for improving their accuracy and precision in weapons firing. With construction performed by North Carolina-based prime contractor Osborne Company, this project is the first warehouse facility of its type in the Army. Anarchists have been associated with May Day in Melbourne for 126 years with the formation of the Melbourne Anarchist Club on May 1st, 1886 while a huge labor demonstration was about to occurr in Chicago. The anarchist Chummy Fleming chaired the first May Day public meeting on the Yarra Bank in 1892. Anarchists continue to be part of the tradition of May Day in Melbourne.
In 2012 a small commemoration was held in front of Her Majesties Theatre where the MAC held it's first meeting in a first floor office on May 1, 1886. But the main public event was a gathering at the Melbourne 8 hour day monument. The gathering then held a vary anarchic march through the streets of Melbourne, going past the Police Remand Centre, the Law Courts where Max Brenner protestors are defending their right to protest in court, the Reserve Bank of Australia, several of the big 4 bank branches, and the Victorian parliament on Spring Street, before ending back at the 8 hour day monument, opposite Melbourne Trades Hall.
The march was relatively small, perhaps 50 people, and soon attracted a 20 strong police escort. The best part was the music being pumped out of the sound system on the support vehicle. It made a long and potentially boring march into something a little bit more bearable.
Just like on May Day 2001 I had the feeling the ghost of Chummy Flemming accompanied us on the march and benevolently smiled at all the young people keeping the spirit of anarchism alive, even though fashions and music have drastically changed. He would have been chuffed at Jacob Grech's speech today at the Eight hour day monument.

California Army National Guard's Bravo Co. 1-126th Aviation Regiment, Delta Schooners, based out of Stockton, flew two of their CH-47 Chinooks to the Marines Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, Calif., high in the Sierra mountains, March 28, 2014, to support Hawaiian-based 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines conducting high elevation training. More than 600 snow clad Marines armed to the teeth and packed for an extended stay in snow conditions were airlifted to their landing zones in multiple insertions. During the operation Utah Army National Guard's 1-211th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion AH-64 Apache helicopters circled above providing protection to the Marines who were made up of weapon and mortar platoons, to name a few. Local police and Victim Support joined forces on Saturday 13 December 2014 to organise a Christmas fayre at Aquinas College in Offerton, Stockport.
The event, was opened by Olympic medal winning swimmer Rebecca Adlington and attended by Greater Manchester Police’s Chief Constable Sir Peter Fahy.
Hundreds of local people came along to visit the many stalls and try their hands at the games.
Entertainment was provided by characters from Frozen, Peppa Pig, Mario and Toy Story’s Buzz, Jessie and Woody.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also joined in the fun offering rides in their mini fire engine and a chance to explore the full sized version.
All funds raised went to Victim Support.

Flavien is one of the nurse surpervisors in Mandima, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, responsible for the oversight of Ebola prevention and control procedures at health centres supported by Save the Children with EU humanitarian funding.
Flavien regularly visited health facilities to build the capacity of health staff, ensure that infection prevention and control measures were being followed, based on protocols issued by the DRC Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO).

In Rome, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
The President of Ukraine expressed gratitude for Italy’s steadfast support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its consistent focus on Ukraine during Italy’s presidency of the G7.
"I recall all our meetings, and they always concluded with us finding solutions to very complex issues. One of the most challenging is protecting the rights of people in Ukraine, as well as defending our sovereignty and territorial integrity. I am very pleased that your position in supporting Ukraine, our people, and our children has always remained unwavering," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian President provided an update on the situation at the front lines and on Russia’s ongoing missile terror targeting civilians.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed the continuation of military assistance to Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his appreciation to Italy for its significant military-technical support, including the approval of the 10th aid package.
He emphasized the importance of coordinated actions by partner countries to end the war with a just and lasting peace.
The President of Ukraine also commended Italy’s firm stance on maintaining and enforcing sanctions against Russia.
A key topic of negotiations was the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.
The President thanked Italy for its care and support of Ukrainian orphans currently residing in Italy because of the Russian aggression.
The leaders also discussed preparations for the International Ukraine Recovery Conference, scheduled for July 10–11 in Rome. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Italian experts could join the restoration of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
President Zelenskyy extended an invitation to President Mattarella to visit Ukraine.

This is me before starting my sponsored walk for Macmillan Cancer Support. I said that I was going to walk from Kings Lock to Wheelock Wharf but I actually walked a bit further to make it an even 10K.
I walked from the other side of Kings Lock, Middlewich back home to Wheelock along the towpath of the Trent and Mersey Canal.
They say the sun always shines on the righteous and it was lovely walking weather today. The sky went black a time or two but the sun soon broke through again. It rained once but by the time I'd got my waterproof out of my backpack, it had stopped!
Thank you for reading this and thank you from everyone affected by cancer for any donation you have made or may make in the future.

Savukārt pēdējie desmit Latvijas karavīri atgriezās mājās, tādējādi noslēdzot dalību alianses vadīto Starptautisko drošības atbalsta spēku (ISAF) kaujas operācijā, kurā Latvija piedalījās kopš 2003.gada.
Kontingentu maiņa notika ar svinīgu Latvijas valsts karogu maiņu, nolaižot ISAF Latvijas kontingenta un paceļot „Resolute Support” kontingentam pasniegto karogu.
Karavīri galvenokārt izvietoti Marmalas bāzē Mazarišarīfā valsts ziemeļos, bet neliela daļa arī Kabulā.
Apmācību jomā Latvijas karavīri atbalstīs Afganistānas Nacionālās armijas 209.korpusa štābu un Inženieru skolu un kā padomdevēji darbosies arī alianses apmācības spēku izveidotajā Reģionālajā apvienotajā vadības un koordinācijas centrā. Tas nodarbosies ar Afganistānas drošības spēku apmācības koordināciju un informācijas apmaiņu Ziemeļu reģionā, kurā vadošā valsts ir Vācija. Latvija nodrošinās arī militāro policistu dalību Daudznacionālajā Militārās policijas rotā, kā arī gaisa atbalsta kontrolieru grupu Ātrās reaģēšanas rotā.

Jan. 1 2014 more than 20 Latvian soldiers began their duty in the new NATO-led training operation "Resolute Support", which will focus on the training the Afghan forces.
The Latvian soldiers will support the efforts of the Afghani National Army’s 209th Corps and Engineering School and will serve as advisers in the NATO’s Joint Regional Management and Coordination Centre.
The first Latvian contingent for this operation has already arrived in Afghanistan. The soldiers are primarily stationed in Camp Marmal in Mazar e Sharif in the Northern part of the country, while a small part of the soldiers is stationed in Kabul. Upon the commencement of the training operation, these soldiers will work as advisers as well as staff officers and instructors of various levels.

Crews have poured the concrete to build the first above-ground support columns, seen in the photo in green, for the new I-85 North Bridge over the Yadkin River in Davidson and Rowan counties.
The concrete truck poured the concrete into a hopper on a pump truck. The concrete was then pumped through a pipe into the column.
