There's another photo, one I took before this one. It's got Amanda, supermodel Amanda, in an incredible spot, the subject of a photo I am very happy with.
It required Amanda be picked up (by me) and placed in the overgrowth between two trees. She was stabbed, scratched, crawled on, it was visibly uncomfortable. But she did it, that there is trust, man.
Those twigs and bits in her hair? That's from the stuff behind her. That make-up on her face? That's from Piper.
The high five I gave her afterwards? That's for being wicked awesome.

Sandy and I were trying to get Gracie to pose on this bench at the opening of the Arts Alive exhibits. Benni watched our efforts (unsuccessful), and leaped over the front clouds you see and sat nicely. That's why I called her a supermodel. But supermodels should look at the camera when told, right?

Seaside Sparrow 2 (Ammodramus maritimus) SESP
I had so much fun shooting this little super star that I couldn't resist another view......an over the shoulder pose highlighting the beautiful grays and browns. (Plus I still am having Flickr editing issues and have to stick with images not needing a crop) The winter birds (when I saw it) have brighter color and by summer they are a worn uniform grayish-brown. They spend so much time hiding in and flitting through the sharp marsh grasses that it degrades their feathers and coloring.

While out for a walk, I met a couple and their 4 rescue dogs. This beauty, who is named Sibéal, is the most recent and actually came from a rescue I support. She was saved from a life of misery on a traveller site.
This juvenile White Tailed Kite used this perch in the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area for a week or so. An adult would frequently call to it from behind the row of trees; it would fly off and return to the perch shortly. I never did figure out what was going on. One of the things that excites me about photographing wildlife is putting my detective skills to work - trying to use what I've learned to identify and maybe even predict interesting behavior patterns, but this case remains unsolved...
I was walking across the front lawn when this deer popped out of the ornamental grass garden where it had been resting and struck this elegant pose for me. This is one of the at least eight deer that are roaming around our place lately.
you're gonna wanna see all the zaniness on the blog ... really!
i equate this with all of those supermodel photos in the ocean, flipping their water-soaked hair back into a spray of water.

My wife found this zebra spider (Salticus scenicus) running on the kitchen countertop and called me over to get it outside.
The jumper was quickly deposited outside, but since she was very cute, I legged it innside for the camera and to my pleasure, she was still watinginwhen I got back outside.
Being the perfect model she then decided to buff her chelicerate using her pedipalps to reallty look her best and that is when I took this shot at 3.7:1 magnification.
