For this shoot, we rented the Gatineau Park, closed down traffic and were able to take neat shots of the closed, winding roads. Not really! The park is closed to traffic until spring. Cooper and I like to hike when the park is closed, it's kind of cool.

One of the Wheatear that I was fortunate to shoot the other day. They gave me several photo opportunities and the light was definitively a big plus that day. Cheers my Friends.

Well, not so much a French supermodel as my step-son, Stephane. This is my very first "posed portrait" attempt. Rather than sneaking around taking shots of unknown & unsuspecting people, I asked Stephane to pose for me. I really couldn't stuff the photo up as he's such a natural!
Mercedes is very happy these days. She is 11.5 years old. She has started to show signs of not being so agile. She has recently survived a serious cat attack I think. I nursed her wounds on her left back leg, and she let me, it was amazing, she just let me do everything to fix her up. I had been away, so she had been sore for more than one day possibly, by the time I got to her she was in so much pain she just didn't care anymore to fight against me fixing her up. She recovered well. Prior to the attack she didn't seem to make clean jumps anymore, sometimes she doesn't make the jump, and she's not as readily strong as she used to be. But one thing is for sure, she's very playful and happy, especially at night. She talks to her toys and rubs on them and throws them around.
She can escape the yard, and I allow it because she's sensible, she doesn't go on the road, and she mentally needs to not be caged. The lady who was feeding them said the day before I returned, all the cats did not come out when she came to put the food and usually they come to her. So I suspect another cat had got into my yard and attacked Mercedes. I doubt one of the others bit her, but I don't really know what happened to cause all the cats to be too afraid to come to feed, or who attacked Mercedes.
I normally keep my focus on sparrows this time of year. It's hard to resist a photo shoot with a Palm Warbler that sits a foot from you and gives you a perfect opportunity for pictures :)

IT Supermodel Convention: Who Will Get to Go?
Yes, my daughter Hannah and I are going to the 2016 IT Supermodel Convention in Chicago! These are several of the ladies (and gents) who are wanting to go too! The ladies think the guys will not enjoy it and that I should only bring them. Who do you think I should pick?
Who else is going? I would love to meet some of the doll peeps I have gotten to know through their blogs or here on Flickr!
This was our second shoot with the lovely Alexus. For being so young she is incredibly focused and great to shoot with - a nice mix of beauty, sweetness, adventure, and attitude. For some unknown reason she seems to enjoy shooting with us - and we appreciate that. I took these photos on a very cold day (Alexus is not of fan of cold weather) at JUMP in downtown Boise in mid-January 2021. What a fun shoot!
I was out running with Ringo early one morning, and little Silvie came out of the woods and joined us. She ran with us. Eventually after about 5km, we arrive back home. I took her to the Vet. She had a chip, but the owner did not want her. We put some pictures up on facebook, and now she is waiting to go to her new home in the UK.
Silvia is the spirit of the woods.
