Sorry for the inactivity lately, I’ve been kind of uninspired to make anything new. But, I have come up with ideas for upcoming projects, and I plan on working on the Super Smash Bros 4 characters soon. I am also beginning to work on an entry to Jonathan’s contest. I hope this will do for now!

-Totally Awesome

I worked over a shot of a Georgia Strait sunset and came up with this. This is shot from the ferry. The water below is simulated but the hills and sky are the original deal. Color enhanced. I'm really digging golden tones of late.

Had a couple ideas (and committed a few thefts), so I threw these together.

Back row:

Sinestro: Pretty sure I stole this one from ole Jonathan Wong

Grodd: An older model now, but I like him.

Grundy: Mostly stolen from Colby

Bizarro: 100% stolen from Andrew from his instagram.

Bottom row:

Riddler: A weirder take. Wanted to utilize that racer torso.

Giganta: Well, her hands are.

Toyman: Thought this head simulated a wood mask well.

Manta is Manta cause he's the only Manta I got.

Luthor: Wanted to go a different angle than the power armor, so here's Utilitarian, jumpsuit Luthor.

Brainiac: Some minor changes to another older fig. Head's from Onlinesailin.

Cheetah: Pretty self-explanatory.

Captain Cold: Wanted a more super-friends-y look, this is what I came up with. Thought about using the Frozone parts but that blue was just too Aqua.

Scarecrow: Still the same.

Lemme know what you think!

For all my dear friends!

I missed you so much!

Thank you so much for your kind attention and friendship!

Have a fantastic day!

At the palatial home of Forge Fitzwilliam... or is it? Forge is suspected of being a con man of much notoriety and often what he claims to be his, actually isn't.

Today, Forge is speaking with three of the feared Poodoos, an exceeding rambunctious gang of criminals.

Forge: "...and of course you would have my immense resources backing the three of you. Though with this group, they will hardly be needed! A simple in-and-out. Retrieve the chest, drop it off where we agreed, and you're rich!"

Romgoo the Stupendous: "GURGH! BRLURRGH! RURRHHNNUBRLL!!"

Forge: "Totally understood! But with your incredible strength, and the Exo's firepower, and... whatever this blue fellow can do... I assure you that whatever security forces the stronghold has, they won't last at all against you. In fact, I'd wager that they all run away on sight!"

Romgoo: "PPLLRRPPTT!!! BRRLURBBL!! PRRPPLLLTTZZ!!"

Forge: "Mm! Mm. This is a very wet conversation. Well, if you're concerned about payment, just look at my home. That should be visual collateral in excess."

Battloid: "Is this really your home?"

Forge: *sputter* "Eh? Of course it's my home!"

Battloid: "Because there are a lot of portraits, but none of you."

Forge: "Ah, yes. That. Well, that... Humility. My friend, that is humility. I cannot... I dare say, I detest any aggrandizement of myself."

Battloid: "Right. You know, we can track you down. If we do not receive payment. You cannot hide from us."

Forge: "Hide? I will welcome you to a celebratory feast!"

Romgoo: "BLUORGHH!!!""

Forge: "I... I could not have phrased that any more succinctly myself."

i think it's my internet connection that is having problems, making it quite difficul to visit most of your streams. i hope things get better soon as i am way behind in my visits!

Batman and Robin have fallen into the hands of Lex Luthor and his Legion of Doom.

I combined two Extreme Sets to form the Legion's underground base (Sewer 2.0 and Headquarters).

i have not "flooded" any photo lately and i thought this shot would be a nice candidate. it has sunlight and flowers and isn't that the best formula for a refreshing reflection?

i am not sure if you have seen the rest of the flood set. if not, please visit if you have time: www.flickr.com/photos/doctony/sets/72157600004635176/show/

Let me know what you think!

The infamous abandoned Tyersall House (also known as Istana Woodneuk), Singapore.

Please check the whole Tyersall House Set.

For the little history, this house was first built in 1854, and was known as "Tyersall House". In 1860, a Malay sultan took over the property and the house was demolished. The new house, Istana Woodneuk ("istana" means "palace" in Malay) was built in 1890 and completed 2 years later. In 1905, it was badly burnt because of faulty electrical wiring. This house has been abandoned since 1907.

Technical Note: 5exp tonemapped HDR with Photomatix. Then lots of post-processing with Photoshop to get this dark mood. Not my usual style, but wanted to try something different.

Was looking for Black Pearl and Capitan Jack Sparrow!

Did not find them, so enjoyed the scenery and started counting days of my busy month!

Only 2 weeks have left, so I'll be able to look at your pearls soon!

And who will need black pearl and Jack Sparrow then? :))

Thank you for your comments, mails, tags and support during my absence!

Take care and have a wonderful day! :))

one more from my dc visit. not sure what stop this is, but i think this was on my way to the national zoo. i had the cam at a higher ISO, which gave the shot some noise, but i think it actually gave the photo an interesting look.

please check out the rest of the set if you have time.

will not be able to visit much tonight, my friends, a bit busy with work (yes i do work!) lol!!! will catch up in the morning! take care...

Custom Hall of Justice Diorama by Gee Whiz Customs

Hallmark Wednesdays at the Bijou Planks...

School is often about status. And a primo measurement of your cool factor is your lunchbox.

If you sit down at the table and pull out a plain green plastic tote... you're toast. You're not even in the conversation, man!

No, your lunchbox needs to be metal. That's right, you went all in. And, of top importance, who is on your lunchbox?

Are you gonna play it safe and have butterflies and flowers? That's only one step above the plain green. Is the lunchbox subject matter cool, like racing choppers, but generic? Well, you're headed in the right direction but you're far from home.

But when you break out the box with the licensed characters, you show yourself to be a kid who knows how to handle Mom! You marched Mom right past the plastic boxes, the no-name boxes, the knock-off boxes, to the higher priced beauties emblazoned with the registered likenesses of the coolest people and things on Earth!

But you've got to be smart here. A popular TV show can suddenly bomb and there, in the middle of a school year, you're lugging Joanie Loves Chachi around like a dork!

Sports are good! Even when others don't like your team, you have team pride. But, what if the team doesn't even exist any more? Everyone else is proudly setting their Dolphins, or Bruins, or Angels boxes on the table, and you have an XFL team??

But the top choice, the never fail, the sure thing, the always on like a chicken bone, is comic book super-heroes. No TV sitcom star is gonna hold a candle to Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman!

Now, last, the Thermos. (Yes, for cool school, it needs to be Thermos. None of that Bubba or Yeti jazz.) It does no good to have a cool rockin' lunchbox if your Thermos is Scotch tartan.

The Thermos needs to match the subject matter! So be sure to check that the lunchbox comes with a matching Thermos and the next day at school, set that bad boy on the table and start unpacking all the envy!

Lunch Box Set

Box Back:

"Superman returned to animated cartoons in 1966, after an absence of nearly 25 years. In the years that followed, he would be united with many of his crime fighting friends in a series of animated programs. In 1973 Superman joined Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Robin in one of the longest running animated programs, SUPER FRIENDS.

This lunch box ornament highlights some of the favorite DC Characters from that classic TV series, has the ability to open and close, and even includes a separate drink container ornament with coordinated characters."

For all of my life this little waterfall was a stopping place on camping trips along the Forest Road 23 above Trout Lake, Washington... Big Spring Creek, a sweet little place, surrounded by huckleberries and wildflowers... and I would always pour the icy snowmelt and spring water over my head and take a big drink of pure delicious water...

I have slept in my truck beside this falls listening to the music of the earth in all its glory weaving its songs throughout my dreams...

Running up the steep path alongside the fast flowing stream, through the tall trees, is a stimulant of life force like no other... panting for breath in the high altitude while my out of shape heart pounds... but oh so full of LIFE and joy!

THis day the fog was so magical... I had never seen it quite like this before! so mysterious... wonderful!!

Issue 17: The Dynamic Selfie. | The H Word

I think I should start titling these like avaunt-garde jazz tracks.

Desaad: Wanted a use for that turban that wasn't Nemo in purple.

Henchy: Vertigo's henchman from Young Justice and that one Green Arrow short.

Cheshire: Not the best, but the best with what I've got.

Toyman: Built Winslow for once. Operating under the idea that Superfriends Toyman is like his robot bodyguard.

Amazo: Based on JLU.

Human Flying Fish: The greatest Aquaman villain of all.

Imposter Hatter: New torso. I gotta invest in some red bow-ties.

King Shark: Inspired in part by Mister C. Torso is that snow Batman with the logo removed.

Onomatopoeia: Bam, zap, pow.

Lemme know what you think!

This is an handheld shot, so is not as sharp as I would like!

EOS 30D + EF 17-40L @25mm, f/4.5 1/15s ISO 800

this shot is purely coming from the camera... :D this is how i discovered beauty even in dead plants... :D

Mmeh.

So I was looking for a decool Grey Hulk with a removable head, and thought I fond one, but it turns out I didn't. Thus I made a slap-dash Solomon Grundy. He looks like crap but I'm okay with that.

Also featuring some other Doom updates:

Bizarro: Altered the Micros version.

Brainiac: Courtesy of Onlinesailin.

Scarecrow: Gave him the CMF Head/hat for maximum Superfriends-y-ness.

Giganta: Just jumping on the Giganta update bandwagon.

All in all pretty lackluster, just wanted to get this out of my files and on to my feed.

Cheers!

post before going to sleep...just couldn't resist ;-)

This was taken in Nelson Lakes National Park on Lake Rotoiti, we stayed here for several days to wait for better weather because we wanted to climb a mountain ridge up to a hut in the mountains called "Angelus Hut" . This was the start of the day, where everything was misty, but the higher we got, and the more time passed, the weather got superfriendly and we had sun all the way.

Hello my friends! How are you all doing! I had a really wonderful day, was out in the Royal Adelaide Show from 12:30PM until 9:30PM (Finished the show with fireworks!)~~ So i am really tired actually! But it was great fun! And I took fair a bit of photos!!

As i am a bit lazy and tired when I got home, so haven't organize my photos yet... therefore, will have post the show photos tomorrow!

P/S: I find that recently a lot of people praticing bokeh photography~~~ is that because HBW group??? What makes it so trendy???

first try on texture and layer technique.. Big thanks to Jill and Nesster for making this possible!

very addictive technique indeed! :D

The last time I showed off my Clock King, he was squished in with eleven other people, so I thought it would be good to show him off. This is my rendition of the version of Clock King as he was seen on Batman: The Animated Series. His design is not original, but his staff (meant to resemble the hand of a clock), and his pocket watch (the studs in his hand) are, so those are the parts of this fig that I myself am most proud of. Credit for the design, goes to -{Peppersalt}-'s Suicide Squad/Task Force X series.

Braniac, on the other hand, I always thought looked pretty bland, and as such, I thought I'd spice him up a bit. Credit for the new leg combos goes to TheMooseFigs' 40th DC Figures series, while the golden gun is my own reference to Braniac's shrink ray that he used on the Superfriends.

watching the manila bay sunset is like watching the news, you never know what you will be seeing until the very last moment, and like snowflakes, no two are alike.

just got to watch "slumdog millionaire" grab the best picture at the oscars too and that was fantastic! did you know that movie was supposed to go directly to dvd? just an amazing movie.

I figured we had departed enough from DC JL media since the Superfriends, so we're bringing it back to one of my all time personal favorites...

The Justice League: Animated Series (2001-2004/2006)

Off the backs of Batman and Superman's Animated series on The WB, Paul Dini and Bruce Timm had successfully created a shared TV animated universe that spanned from 1991 to 2006! Bruce and Paul both say their inspirations come from early 1950's-1970's comic books/animations. What did I tell you about things getting good again after 30-odd years! :P

The Dini/Timm-verse is one to go down in the history books. Not only was their work on Batman: The Animated Series ground breaking from an animation standpoint, but following up with two additional series, an interconnected Superman show, then capping the universe with an astounding, heartfelt, action packed, two series' Justice League show?! Man, if anyone was gonna do it right, it was them!

Watching JL, and JL:U was like literally watching re-created comic books stories! The dedication and commitment to the source material is phenomenal, while still being independent in it's own concept. It's funny, it's heartbreaking, it's emotional, and most of all, it's a blast to watch!

The cast and crew all had a very strong view of what the show was and what it meant to fans of DC and it's previous animated series'. The show understood the team's dynamics and how each member would work with one another. There was an incredible strength behind the characteristics of the main seven members. Giving each of them a reason to be on the show as a team, and that lead to some really great story work. Additionally The WB team never bit off more than they could chew! Starting small with stories that generally revolved around two or three JL members aided this series as a whole. Because when we finally got to the JL:U, episodes could feature the entire league and it never felt forced!

I'm so impressed at how smart everything was handled throughout the entire run, not just the JL series, but the entire fifteen year run! I gotta give some serious props to that production team! :P

You know, part of the reason this show was so successful was because it was fun! It had everything from action and adventure, to some great teen friendly humor, while also having a good sense of drama, and even hints of romance throughout (I'm still shipping Jon and Shayera). Plus it held some great connections to original Silver Age comic's and their writers, all the way down to sharing ties with the books being printed during the mid-2000's! It's... Dude it's unrivaled! Thinking about it now, I'm still just super impressed by how well the Dini/Timm universe was handled from the ground up!

(I feel like I'm repeating myself) :P

Undeniably, Dini and Timm may be the reason why DC's animated productions are so well funded and produced these days. I'd argue that due to the success of what they established, DC as a company really puts a lot of faith in that field of media.

On a side tangent, I totally forgot to mention what was going on in the 2000s (Comic Wise). There were a lot of weird things happening during this show's run time. We had Final Crisis, Blackest Night, All the “Year One/Year Later” stuff, The soft-core Green Lantern Corp Reboot (Rebirth), Barry Allan was Rebirthed, and basically Geoff Johns just wrote for everything and did everybody's job for a while. In a lot of these books, there was a lot of “story repair” taking place in response to what the 1990's left in it's wake. Somebody had to do something about The Metropolis Kid....

Considering all this, the 2000's were great for what they had to work with. There was a sense of legitimacy and purpose behind the stories, with deeper emotional ties to DC's past and heroes long gone. There wasn't a single series you could read without the main hero being broken up or conflicted over a deceased mentor/lover in some caliber. Not always “fun” per-say, but well needed, and welcoming for new readers.

To bring it all back on topic, this show contained a wonderful amount of nostalgic feeling for the Silver and Bronze Ages, plus they had fun with it! (I can't stop reminding you how fun of a show it was). They re-told old stories, while creating something new! :)

It was at the point where I personally joined our DC Time Line in Comic Book History. The Justice League Animated Series (and BTAS) were my entrance into DC's enormous collection of media, and it's hooked me ever since.

It'll always hold a dear place in my heart :)
