1) Yes, 70+. I'm fair skinned and a freak about sunscreen. I put it on my kids and they still tan. (But at least they don't burn...for the most part!)

Here up on the mesa (at 5,300 ft) , where I live in the southwestern US the sun gets extremely hot. We don't get humidity (thank goodness) but we do bake in the intense sun. Shade cloth is extremely important for our greenhouse. It protects the plants during the day, thus an integral part of our mini-urban farm.
