Pass me a beer and the sunblock, please.

As a mom to two young children, South African born actress Charlize Theron finds that she no longer has time to indulge in a lengthy morning skin care regime. So she sticks with a good rinse in cold water or a quick wash with a hot washcloth before putting on sunblock, foundation and mascara. ...

I wonder why young Cosimo wanted his name stencilled on his back using sunblock?

It seems to be constantly careening from summer to winter to summer around these parts, these days. Yesterday it was freezing with a knife-like wind, today the birds are chirping and sunblock is a must. And so, I'm putting away the puffy scarves and jackets and boots and pulling out the summer slingbacks. Again!

Lakawon, also called Llacaon, is a 13-hectare, banana-shaped island off the coast of Cadiz City in the northern portion of Negros Occidental, a province in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. A white sand beach resort on the island, a family-run business, is a popular destination for both local and foreign tourists.

The term Lakawon is derived from a Cebuano word lakaw, meaning "to walk". The island may have gotten its name because during low tide, one has to literally walk or wade a long distance to or from the main island.

Lakawon is 48 kilometers north of Bacolod City, the provincial capital. The island is accessible from the coast of Barangay Cadiz Viejo via a 20-minute boat ride. Lakawon's white sand beach is claimed to rival that of Boracay, a popular island resort off the coast of Aklan in Panay. In stark contrast to its more famous counterpart, however, Lakawon has a smaller influx of tourists, and the island is not commercially developed.

The island is more akin to a sandbar. The white sand beaches are largely on the part of the island facing the island of Negros. The opposite portion, facing the open sea, is more rugged. There is a small fishing village on one side of the island. The inhabitants there earn their living from harvesting the sea's bounty and from working in the private resort.

Let me explain! So I recently found out that flickr only allows 200 pictures for a free account and I am extraordinarily cheap and am not going to pay 25$ to put pictures on the internet. haha. So I've created a tumblr where I'll put the pictures that are getting deleted.

Now this is taking me forever to get around to b/c school is starting next tuesday and I've yet to get ready at all. Plus I've been doing other things procrastinating everything. So I have like the first few pictures that I like up there that will get deleted. Some I don't really care about so get your last look.

Hopefully next week I'll finish editing the rest of the pictures from the mtvU sunblock festival. But this one was my favorite of the night - but I'm bias b/c its Martin.

The first video I made. But others yet to come will be either by me or my friends Sara and Kiley - or collabs! So subscribe, comment, & rate! And we need ideas! I love stop motions so expect those from my part of this.

Oh and I have over 1,000 page views. So Thanks!! & Thanks even more if you actually read all of this - any questions? haha.

We left Baltimore with sub freezing temperatures. The last thing we thought about was buying sunblock for Peru. After walking around all day in Barranco and Miraflores when I returned to the hotel I realized I had a problem. SUNBURN! I had forgotten how close the equator we would be! Needless to say buying sunblock was at the top of out list the next morning.

doing some experimenting with silhouettes...going to try again soon!

In the cold winter, they will search the house over for a sunblock. Today, unfortunately, they found it on the couch.

One of us used a little. One of us used a moderate amount. One of us used a lot of sunblock.

Can you guess who used which amount?

I happened upon this sunbather on a walk. Maybe someone's statement about the cleanliness of the beaches, beautiful as it may look from this angle.

I have this week off and was going to go for a bike ride at 8am this morning but when I saw that it was already 36C with the humidex, I said "Pass!" Which sucks but I try to avoid melting when I ride. :p

Keep cool folks!

Might as well go three-for-three when it comes to bird pictures this week, right?!

Caught this fellow lurking around one of the corrals at the Farmer's Museum in Cooperstown, New York. He just stayed in the corner, didn't come out or attempt to fly away. I figured it was because:

A) He's shy.

B) He forgot to wear sunblock.

C) He's afraid of the chicken in my post from yesterday.

D) He's sick of people quoting Poe to him and will peck out the eyes of the next person who looks at him and says, "Nevermore."

And really? Can you blame him?
