DL PO74 rolls past Summit Lake in Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania on the former Lackawanna mainline over the Poconos behind five ALCO/MLW products.

Photographed from above the old workings to the west of the line, Northern's 1E65 1340 Carlisle to Leeds service nears the summit at Aisgill.

The smoke from 12A's chimney erupts skywards as it nears the top of the climb into Emerald with at train for Lakeside.
4592 has just crested the summit of Marias Pass about a mile back and is now decending down the hill. They will drop about 2200 feet in elevation in the 67 miles to Whitefish.
70814 departs Shap Summit loop with the Land Recovery JNAs after allowing various passenger trains to pass.

UP 8775 leads NS 368 through the Summit crossovers as they near the end of their trip from Atlanta, GA.
At last I gain the rocky and rather barren summit plateau of Derry Cairngorm. My destination, Derry Cairngorm's summit cairn, is in the distance so I'll have to pick my way carefully across the rocks and boulders to finally reach it.
Derry Cairngorm is my first Munro I have bagged this season, my 24th in total, and stands at 1155 meters (3789 feet). This trip sees me covering approximately 20 miles by Bike & Hike and gaining 2682 feet in elevation, after setting off from the Linn of Dee outside Braemar.
An odd, isolated tree on a knoll representing the summit of the hill west of Grendon and south of Butterton, Staffordshire.
I drove past this tree a few times over the summer - but it's more photogenic without leaves, I would say.
Are we there yet, I asked myself, as I toiled up the high altitude trail towards the summit.
This photo was taken by a Kowa/SIX medium format film camera and KOWA LENS-S 1:3.5/150mm lens with a Zenza Bronica 67mm SY48•2C(Y2) filter using Ilford Delta 100 Pro film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitalized using Photoshop.
One of New York's newest architectural icons, One Vanderbilt is a 93-story supertall skyscraper at 42nd St and Vanderbilt Ave.
Upon opening in April 2021, it was the 4th tallest building in NYC.
The observation deck, SUMMIT, opened in late October 2021. The three floors of mirrored surfaces have made it a a must-visit for Instragramers and aspiring fashion models.
The building offers views of the Chrysler Building, rooftops across midtown, but the star is the Empire State Building to the south.

Another pristine bluebird day at Mt. Bachelor today, and it was a lot warmer than my frostbitten trek to the summit two weeks ago. It's not often you get to look down on the world from above the clouds without being in an airplane.

In the historic neighborhoods off Saint Paul's Summit Avenue, there are many traces of the architecture and buildings of the day. Here I found a garage where the corner was covered in ivy. Enjoy!
Another photo I took at Bernal Heights last weekend. I saw this couple summitting the hill right below these cypress trees. It was a very nice day for the short hike.

This is the peoples cross that sits on top of the Bray Head at its summit. It was erected in 1950 and can be seen for miles and miles.
