2021 was such a wild ride for me! I was reborn in SL, found new interests, new friends, fell in love, and got married. I really hit my stride- only 13 years late!
Thank you to everyone who made 2021 so special. I'd like to wish everyone a happy New Year and a healthy and spectacular 2022!

Such a beautiful snowfall this weekend blanketed everything around the Mahomet, Illinois area in white. This evergreen brought a splash of color to this peaceful scene.
This is the Confederation Bridge, which connects Prince Edward Island to the rest of Canada (via New Brunswick). It's 13 km long. I still don't think it's the longest bridge in the world though. Any bridge geeks out there know which one is?

Up and out early this morning for a family walk. Such trips have become rare due to Riley's footy matches but no game this week so we took advantage.
I miss them and we have a few more opportunities over the coming weeks to get out again.

All of our children are gone for the weekend........ I can't believe it. Don't get me wrong, I love my babies, but a weekend of just the two of us is so exciting.
We have discussing whether this is cliche. I think it is... birds, light flare off the water... so I am jumping in!
Well, Saturday was such a rip-roaring excitement-filled success on Flickr on Saturday, that I've decided what's most appropriate for Sunday should be and was chosen by me, blindfolded and throwing a dart. (I would have thrown a draught, but everyone knows that just a waste of a glass of beer.)
So, here is a tangled plant comprived of two Pavonia lasiopetala less than a mile from home. Pavonia lasiopetala is a species of flowering plant in the mallow family known by the common names that include Texas swamp-mallow, Wright pavonia, and rock rose. It is native to Texas in the United States and Coahuila and Nuevo León in Mexico.
This is a shrubby perennial herb growing up to 4 feet tall. The alternately arranged leaves have toothed or lobed edges and are up to 2.5 inches long. The flowers have five red or pink petals and bloom from June until the fall months. They are attractive to hummingbirds. They also have thorns which really hurt.
Many animals feed on the plant, including livestock. It is added to seed mixes used to vegetate rangeland in its native range. What they failed to mention is that Black-tailed mule deer, of which Mt. Diablo has tons, love to come into neighborhood and eat all rose bushes, rock or otherwise, which tens to get 90 year olds with guns out to eradicate the threat to their gardens, but usually just eradicate a neighbor or two.
P.S. If you're thinking of growing these, they have the capacity to become weedy. Now, to say that they have "the capacity" to become weedy ... well, doesn't that imply that rock roses can become weedy if they wanted to and that there is such a thing as free will for roses?

Morning departure for Corsair International's F-HZEN at TFFF. It was around 8:00 am.. What a pleasure !!
We had foodie friends over for pizza dinner. My son cooks excellent pizza, and he offers some unusual creations, such as steak pizza, Chinese style duck pizza, Doppio Zero pizza with arugula and prosciutto di Parma, and a desert pizza with espresso. Since we have these dinners I don't feel like going to local pizza restaurants.
I processed a balanced and a realistic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

I have yet, after thousands of flowers find a 'perfect' one.... just like people? LOLOLOL
Still, it is slowly unfolding and yielding us its beauty and fragrance in the evening...
