Winery Story:

The finest things in life are often hidden away and that’s the case with the award-winning Andretti Winery.

Nestled alongside a quiet country lane in the heart of the legendary Napa Valley, Andretti Winery exudes Old World Charm as it whisks wine lovers back in time to a slower pace of life. Modeled after a rambling Italian village, the winery conjures up the boyhood home of its namesake, Mario Andretti, the finest race car driver of all time.

Founded in 1996 by Mario Andretti and his longtime friend, Joe Antonini, former Chairman & CEO of Kmart Corporation, Andretti Winery is dedicated to celebrating the Italian lifestyle, complete with the finest wines produced anywhere in the world. Blessed with premium grapes grown in the most acclaimed valley in California, Andretti Winery produces an array of wines that – like Mario Andretti himself – are second to none.

We invite you to taste the good life, Andretti style.

The Style Ride presented by Momentum Magazine

Built in 1822, this Federal and Greek Revival-style house was built for Henry P. Wilcox, whom served as the postmaster of Marietta, and was purchased by General Henry P. Wilcox in 1837, remaining in the Wilcox family until the 1930s. Between 1837 and 1850, the house was renovated multiple times, adding the Greek Revival-style portico and additional wings to the rear, expanding it to its present size and form. The house is clad in flemish bond brick with a front-gable roof, a two-story gabled rear ell, twelve-over-twelve, six-over-six, and three-over-three double-hung windows, entrance doors with fanlight transoms, a two-story front portico with doric columns, and a fanlight attic window on the front gable. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and is a contributing structure in the Marietta Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, and expanded to its present size in 2001. Since 1937, the house has served as the official home of the President of Marietta College.

After choosing Mudflap's car mode as my new Skids, I started by adding a new G1 styled head. I used the "ears" from Mudflap's original head, and the rest is totally sculpted in epoxy putty.

I also added the G1 cannons on each arm. These were kitbashed from a Star Wars model kit.

I airbrushed a blue base color and several layers of metallic blue on top of it, this gave him a really shiny look.

I thought that the original racing stripes from the G1 toy wouldn't look very good on this modern day car, so I used the stripes from the movie version of Skids (Chevy Beat), but with the G1 colors.

The car mode is totally clean and I gave the robot mode a little weathering, for a more movie look.
