BCIT Broadcast Journalism students sharing a laugh while fueling up on some caffeine on their study break!
This is a photo of me walking along Ambleside Beach in West Vancouver. I love sunsets and beach walks. There is something so calming about walking alongside the ocean and listening to waves crashing. It's a great way to unwind after a long day of studying!

This picture was taken in the basement of the 18th Ave Library. I normally do most of my school work there and you can see in the background the my textbook, notebook, and homework. I decided to take a break from my schoolwork when an idea for a new joke popped into my head and I always have my joke book on me to write down whatever little funny thing or idea happens to me throughout the day. This is probably the single most important way that comedy affects my life. Since it's something I always have in the back of my head, joke writing is always at least a secondary activity I am performing constantly.
I think this picture shows the dichotomy that exists between my school life, which I consider my job and a necessity to achieve better things in my life, and my need for a creative outlet that isn't fully satisfied by my engineering studies. It also shows how I use comedy as a form of escape from the stress associated with school work at times. This particular moment I was struggling with an assignment and being able to take a 5 minute break while making myself laugh really does wonders for my mental health and ultimately makes me a more productive person. The location of the library is a very important one in my life specifically because it is where I am able to not only finish school work, but also is where I have had some of my more proud comedic thoughts during my study breaks.
