The path to our destination is not always a straight one. We go down the wrong road, we get lost, we turn back. Maybe it doesn't matter which road we embark on. Maybe what matters is that we embark.

I love summer for the sun, sea, granita, but I also hate it because the studying duty for the incoming exams.
Studying for the bar has left me with no time to go outdoors to capture photos, so I've been reduced to this. After about 24 hours, I have to snap a photo, and I'm left to shoot something in my room.
Oh well, this one turned out pretty sweet I think. I love the blurred out MacBook Pro in the background there.
I think the greens and blues in this photo really make the shot. Somehow it's all very soothing and reminds me of the ocean. Perhaps I'm weird.
On a technical note, my lens was quite literally like 4" from the coffee mug here, and the computer was only about 4-5" behind the mug! At ultra-wide angles, you can really separate the subject from the background!
The lack of remote is killing me - worked up quite a sweat running back and forth from camera to desktop while my 10-sec timer beeped away. It's taking some of the fun out of doing these. Probably need to give up my search and just buy a new one. But as I'm scarcely making rent at the moment, that may have to wait. So - expect some interesting compositions of some less elaborate concepts for the next couple of weeks :) Oh- and this will be the last of my 50mm self-portraits - that combination was just never meant to be!

took a little study break to practise with my new Sigma 35mm 1.4 ART lens!! Absolutely IN LOVE with it. If you don't have a Sigma lens, you definitely need one. They are amazing and totally under rated. I apologize for the lack of creativity here, but GAH. I cannot wait to do a shoot with this bad boy!!
I've been getting so much new equipment since I came to London for school and I'm loving it. I'm going to need a bigger camera bag soon! LOL
He’s got the bench, the pages, the posture — but that stare suggests the mind has wandered. Maybe it’s the sunshine, the spring air, or the curious pull of life beyond the syllabus. In Princes Street Gardens, even the most disciplined student can find his thoughts tangled between the lines. Revision can wait — the real exam is resisting the call of the city.

Of the four images in this series I really can't make up my mind which one I like best. I love everything about this image - from the little flowers in her hat, to the cherries on her dress and all those pearls! She's absolutely adorable to boot. And it doesn't hurt that Coca-Cola is my favorite soda!! One more image to follow in this 1950's college girl set!!

It's been raining here for last 2 days, i really love rainy day(too bad im suffering from bad cold or else i could have gone out in rain and get some shots).
My sis is busy with her exams right now and she was studying hard for her exams-starting next week, it was indeed a much needed break from studies for her yesterday, and she was enjoying the rainy day.
I took this shot, without letting her know, and just showed her this pic today:)
I was working on color tones for this shot and ended up with these 3 tones-but i couldn't make up my mind regarding choosing any one out of three, so i made this collage of these 3 different tones.

I HAD to get out of the house for awhile this evening. Finals make me crazy. My brain hurts. I must have some pent up rage or something too because I broke my freaking tripod while setting this shot up. Or, I am just super hero strong;) Oh, and then we stopped for sodas because it's REALLY hot & the AC is broken in the car. We realized that neither of us had money with us when we got to the register. Nice.

From left, Tobi Farbstein, an aerospace engineering student, laughs as she watches Niko Economos pick up Iker Aguirre, both aerospace engineering students, during a game of Nuke ‘Em at the volleyball court in The Grove on the North Campus of the University of Michigan, on Thursday evening, April 21, 2022. To the left are Matthew Ejakov a mechanical engineering student and Andrew Memmer, an undeclared Literature, Science and the Arts student.
Farbstein was part of a group of College of Engineering students and College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, who decided to play a few rounds before heading back to their dorms to continue studying for exams. Classes ended for the winter term on Tuesday, April 19, and some exams had started that day.

So, there's this law in Texas that says you can't sell your eye...the Study Breaks feature I've been working on is about crazy texas laws, so some of these shots are a little strange.
Living at my friend's place always reminds me of Lost in Translation, and I think this photo reminds me of that. It's always something I have to consciously remind myself of, that I'm here in DC. I forget until I see something or hear something that makes it clear.
Otherwise, I'm just a midwest girl sitting on a window ledge in cowboy boots looking out at the big world.

a project i made in an independent study class at umich. i used to do live video projections at electronic shows, using a software program i wrote. this was designed to replace that program in hardware.
sadly, i never really finished this, and that fact has always haunted me.
the buttons are arcade game buttons from the heads at Study Break Video Arcade. :-)
Darkness creeps in like a thief and offers no relief
Why are you shaking like a leaf
Come on, come talk to me
Ah please talk to me
Won't you please talk to me
We can unlock this misery
Come on, come talk to me
You lie there with your eyes half closed like there's no-one there at all
There's a tension pulling on your face
Come on, come talk to me
I can imagine the moment
Breaking out through the silence
All the things that we both might say
And the heart it will not be denied

Study break - taking a (much-needed) break from studying; spending time with close friends; relaxing before resuming studying.
This was the first day I actually studied at the library this semester. I’ve been to the library numerous times, but mainly to pick up books for research. I got to spend the day with a very close friend of mine, Mona. The highlight of our day was a long-overdue trip to Sushi Ya. Sushi Ya is by far our favorite sushi restaurant in East Lansing. The environment is friendly, the service is great, and the food is DELICIOUS! We both had not been there in months (I cannot even remember the last time I was there :O ), so going there was an obvious choice. It was a great chance to enjoy some edamame and sushi and catch up!
