I found on we7 an album that I had forgotten about for 30 years. It is Bill Nelson's Red Noise and the album Sound-on-Sound.
When I was a teenager I played it until I wore it out, and hadn't given it a thought until now.
Bill Nelson left Be-bop Deluxe and formed Red Noise for one album, and it was a masterpiece.
It is unashamedly late 70s with plenty of electro and the early use of synths. In my opinion every track is a killer. Listen to it here.
When I heard it for the first time in so many years I was immediately transported back to my teenage self. What a great find.
By the way, the cassette in the photo is an old Killing Joke album (Killing Joke formed at about the same time as Red Noise).
I was just trying to capture the late 70s zeitgeist.
On the subject of Killing Joke, I can still recall the feeling of excitement when I first heard their eponymous album - and knew it was something special. It was so visceral and urgent.
They are still touring and making albums I am pleased to note.

30/52 - 52 Weeks of 2014. "High Key" (Alternate idea for theme)
It's not that I didn't have any good ideas. It's not that I didn't have the time - I actually have more time after work since I'm not cleared to returning to my normal workout routine. For some reason, I lacked motivation. Weather is always an issue during summer (after all I don't want to sweat a lot when I step outside or risk getting caught in a thunderstorm and possibly hit by lightning). Lack of space is also another issue that I have hard time working around.
Anyway, this is a bit of a last minute thing that I decided to do. Learned a neat trick about getting a pure white background from the Phlearn YouTube channel, which I decided to use here. Had to do a few other adjustments to try and make sure all the white on white stuff didn't completely disappear into the background.
So the Rays Bear makes a sudden reappearance in my photostream again. After being absent for quite a while, two recent themes have seen me go back to using him as a subject. Utilized the shoot thru umbrella for this, though I really would like to get a proper softbox one of these days. I do have to admit that I like the 70D's ability of using the pop up flash as a way to trigger my speedlite remotely.
Also going to put this into Sliders Sunday, as there was a bunch of adjustment stuff in RAW and CS6.
