Three “accelerators on a chip” made of silicon are mounted on a clear base. A shoebox-sized particle accelerator being developed under a $13.5 million Moore Foundation grant would use a series of these “accelerators on a chip” to boost the energy of electrons.

Strobist info: 200 Genesis with bulb exposed on full power behind subject. Nikon SB600 shooting through a 45" umbrella towards the Genesis stand to help get rid of blanket shadow. White blankets on floor and tacked on walls.

Help! There are people in my camera!
It's been an incredible little companion. Love it!!!! It's kind of worn and dirty but still performs. Everything in my stream since last April has been shot by this little guy.
Except, it could'nt shoot itself, (well maybe with a mirror) so my old A700 did the honors.

Taken at the Camera Club of Cincinnati's studio in the Carthage neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. A member of the photo club I'm a member of also belongs to the Camera Club of Cincinnati. He arranged for us to use their studio for a photo shoot. I couldn't get my camera to sync with the studio strobes, so this was taken w/o flash. She is looking at another photographer who's turn it was to shoot and had control of the strobes while I took this shot from behind him.
I found on we7 an album that I had forgotten about for 30 years. It is Bill Nelson's Red Noise and the album Sound-on-Sound.
When I was a teenager I played it until I wore it out, and hadn't given it a thought until now.
Bill Nelson left Be-bop Deluxe and formed Red Noise for one album, and it was a masterpiece.
It is unashamedly late 70s with plenty of electro and the early use of synths. In my opinion every track is a killer. Listen to it here.
When I heard it for the first time in so many years I was immediately transported back to my teenage self. What a great find.
By the way, the cassette in the photo is an old Killing Joke album (Killing Joke formed at about the same time as Red Noise).
I was just trying to capture the late 70s zeitgeist.
On the subject of Killing Joke, I can still recall the feeling of excitement when I first heard their eponymous album - and knew it was something special. It was so visceral and urgent.
They are still touring and making albums I am pleased to note.
