Steve was helping me test out my new studio lights Friday night.

Studio lighting class. Don't lick the equipment.

Part 2 of Studio Lighting Class-Strobes

One of several photos I took for my sister when her daughter was just a little toddler (maybe not so little, but anyway).

Lighting info:

Two Profoto Compact, one with umbrella on the background camera left (a bit too strong) and the other one in a medium softbox lighting the little one camera right.

The coccoon was made out of a mesh pull laundry basket. I used clamp light and used my bar stools as a tripod.

VANESSA LEIGH

FEB. 9, 2010

Fantastic studio session with Vanessa. We will be doing a location shoot next tuesday.

I know its said every time I work with her, but she remains a natural, and we work so well together.

These shots were supposed to be our "warm up" shots before heading outside on location, but her session was cut short and the location shooting was postponed until next week.

Every time I shoot her, she looks like a totally different person. Fantastic.

Trying to mimic a model shot for magazine cover.

Two studio lights were used in this shot. One being behind the subject while the other is attached with a brollie, 45 degrees from top left corner.

got my studio lighting

and i LOVE it!

my sister btw.

Photo shoot with my sisters.. they wanted to use props, hence the funny hats..

for the strobist, one soft umbrella left and eye level, at 1/4 power.

Work can get hard sometimes, but we will always find some time for craziness and freedom #margharetk

I decided to experiment with studio lighting a bit. Rather than deal with a human being, I thought Barbie would make a nice stand in. I'll do Ken next I guess. Strobist details: 1/8 power on a Canon 580EXII with a soft box simulating a 30" x 45" softbox. The center of the softbox is about eye level. Softbox is at 60 degrees.

This is my friend Lindsey, I feel that I need to spend some time working on studio lighting so she was kind of enough to stop by my house and do some modeling for me. We kept it simple and just worked with a one light setup. It is hard with having such a small studio to incorporate too many more lights as there is so much bounce off of all of the walls and the ceiling.
