"We had just finished singing karaoke. My mouth tasted like dragon fruit and pineapple; my host sister was chatting in Chinese with a friend. The day was at a standstill and it teetered somewhere between the day ending and the evening beginning - it was as if time couldn't decide which it liked more. Intricate gold metal decorated the outside of the karaoke building and it blinked in the light of the sunset. The setting sun turned everything gold, made everything precious."

"Committee Gießen, went on a 3 trip to Berlin that just so happened to be over Mothers Day. We wanted to do something nice for all of our amazing host moms to let them know we did not forget them and all that they did for us. We took this picture and sent it to all of our moms with a special message saying how we all loved them so much. "

"This was taken in April of a year-long exchange (2009-2010) so all the exchangers in my committee were very close by this point. I was living in Cologne, Germany and we'd often meet up near the famous Cologne Cathedral by the river. In this picture there are people from Germany, Italy, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and the USA. "Wonderwall" and "La Bamba" were always crowd pleasers. Despite coming from all walks of life from all around the world, we loved singing and we loved each other."
