Tahun ini memperingati 40 tahun Program Pertukaran Pemuda Australia Indonesia atau Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP). AIYEP adalah program yang mendukung pertukaran sosial, profesional dan budaya bagi pemuda di Indonesia dan Australia.
AIYEP merupakan program Australia-Indonesia Institute (AII), dengan dukungan dari Pemerintah Australia, dan djalankan dengan kemitraan bersama Kementerian Pemuda dan Olahraga Indonesia.

"The photo was taken within the first week of me being with my host family. We went to one of my host mother's friend's house to have dinner. I was welcomed with open arms and I didn't feel so much like an outsider. I was still trying to adjust to living in Japan and this dinner was something that reassured me that I was welcome and that I was apart of a family!"

"We had just finished singing karaoke. My mouth tasted like dragon fruit and pineapple; my host sister was chatting in Chinese with a friend. The day was at a standstill and it teetered somewhere between the day ending and the evening beginning - it was as if time couldn't decide which it liked more. Intricate gold metal decorated the outside of the karaoke building and it blinked in the light of the sunset. The setting sun turned everything gold, made everything precious."
