Here's one student's artistic impression of Lewis and Clark reaching the Pacific Ocean.
I love this for how much is and isn't said in the picture.
Clearly, this historic moment had no real importance for the student. Neither, apparently, for either Lewis or Clark. One's excited: "We made it!" (Sacajawea-with the long hair- loves him) The other? "Oh, right." There's the Pacific Ocean. Whatever.

Student Nations are regional student associations at a university. A similar phenomena, outside northen Europe, are the fraternities at American universities, but it's imperfect comparison. The nation system was once a widespread concept in Europe, but now they only exist by some degree in Sweden and Finland.
This building is inspired by Norrland Nation in Uppsala, where I am quite involved. I tried to recreate a scene from the early 1900s. The scene captures a typical day of student life with alcohol, love, an infamous horse incident, fencing and so on.

This was an image from a photo shoot I did for Latino Leadership and the Latino Open golf tournament. The Open raises funds for a scholarship, so thus the student/golfer theme in the photos.

Teachers, parents and members of the community visit the library of the Simonsen Ninth Grade Center for the Constitutional Rights Museum on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, in Columbia, Mo. Students in the business management and technology academy led the presentations. The academy clusters, offered for the first time this year, allow Simonsen students to shape their education experience by selecting a designated interest area. "Their enthusiasm has gone up now that they're grouped with students in similar interest areas," Amanda Aspey said, one of the two organizers of the Constitutional Rights Museum.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Foundation, SpaceX, Digital Domain and NASA gave the finalists of the Space Tools 3-D Design Challenge a chance to see the future of space exploration under development as NASA prepares for a journey to Mars. These future engineers had the opportunity to see how NASA is conducting research and developing technologies that will allow us to live and work off the planet and eventually on Mars; how SpaceX is one of two U.S. Commercial companies developing a new crew transportation system that will take astronauts from the U.S. to the International Space Station and back; and how visual effects studios like Digital Domain can use the magic of Hollywood to virtually transport people to the surface of Mars to see what those future missions will be like. These educational trips coincided with the White House's National Week of Making that celebrates innovators, makers, and technology pioneers.

This is one of my favourite pinhole filmswaps...I love the way the sunset emergeds and seems to fit with the architecture of the University of East Anglia Ziggurat, which is student accomodation.
This is the result of a collaboration with the incredible Falling Thru the Lens, who also has a great Blog. The first images were made in California and then the film was mailed to me and I shot in and around the university.
