In Alnwick Garden I was interested to note that some of the structures used to provide a canopy of leaves outside had been repllcated inside to provide support for the roof.

Reedham Swing Bridge and the R. Yare. The bridge still works and a train is expected soon, while downstream a motor cruiser lurks with intent.
Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok)
Went to Bangkok on a family trip. Not a very good timing, frankly, considering the political instability in the country at the moment. In fact, on our day when we were scheduled to leave for home, the Red planned to bring it out to the streets another rally. People were advised to stay indoors as massive traffic jam was expected. Luckily for us, we made it to the airport before the rally started. Army trucks could be seen on the highway to the airport. Obviously, they weren't going to be taken by surprise again after the airport showdown in 2008.

This picture was taken outside of Centennial Place, building 2, of a plant with a pretty yellow flower. This plant shows many structures.
The brand spanking new Performing Arts Center at Soka University of America. The building sticks out like a sore, if beautiful, thumb amid what seemed like a carefully designed, balanced and serene campus. It would be more at home at UCI. For one, it pretty much blocks the best view of the Founders Hall there used to be.
