These structures (built with toothpicks, straws, marshmallows, and gumdrops) were constructed basic principles of engineering (eg. triangles produce stronger structures than squares). They also withstood testing - by a windstorm (box fan) and earthquake (rolling table).
Based on the mathematical rules of Leonardo Fibonacci, the structure in the sunflower is simulated with this concept of a kinetic sculpture. Ten aluminum plates, which are mounted on thirty step motor drives, move up and down. At the end of the choreography, the plates move together to the fibonacci flower. This installation is part of an exhibition concept about mathematical phenomena in nature.

Wir waren für eine Woche an der Nordsee. Während wir am Deich entlang gingen, fand ich diese interessanten Strukturen.
We went to the North Sea for one week. While walking along the bank, i found this great structured part. I like the look of it.
After building the initial treepee I decided it was time to create a living treepee. One that with time, strength would increase and live and thrive for as long as it's meant too. This video is the 6 days it took to build the support structure that will help train the plant life to grow on and up. In time the structure will no longer be needed to support the plant growth and what will be left is the self supporting treepee.
