Structure takes a different and more intricate look at one of the worlds most famous buildings, the Eiffel Tower. We spend so long in awe at the building, its views and what it stands for that we don't always take in the leviathan nature of it's construction. Structure studies the lines, joints and crossings of this great building in black and white, high contrast images.

St. John the Baptist Cirencester is a parish church of cathedral proportions. The present church with its tall tower and three-storey porch appear Perpendicular, but they cloak a building of far greater antiquity. The earliest church is thought to have been built in the C12 and coincided with work on the Augustinian Abbey, which stood nearby. The massive west tower was begun c. 1400 possibly with funds granted by Henry IV, a reward for the town's loyalty. Building continued over a period of time, a spire was intended, but settlement began to endanger the structure and huge spur buttresses were necessary to secure the existing tower. c. 1435 Richard Dixton and William Prelatte sponsored the construction of the Trinity Chapel on the north side of the nave. They were officers of Richard, Duke of York and members of the Weavers' Guild and the chapel was intended to honour both. At the same time Henry Garstang a Lancashire wool merchant built the Chapel of St. Edmund in the south aisle. The east end of the church retains some early features, but has been constantly rebuilt, its present form has a Lady Chapel and the St Catherine north of the chancel itself. In the early C16 the St. Catherine Chapel was extended and a fan vault added. The south porch was built in two stages beginning in the late C15, but the present structure is c. 1500 and originally bridged an east-west thoroughfare, the upper storey functioned as the Town Hall. Finally between 1514 and 1530 the nave was completely rebuilt. C15 stone pulpit, a mutilated Perpendicular font and an C18 one in the Lady Chapel. C15-C16 oak screens. Fragmentary wall paintings, including a fine St. Christopher in the St. Catherine Chapel. C16 cross head in the Lady Chapel. C18 figure of a Bluecoat boy near the south door. The Boleyn cup 1535 made for Anne Boleyn. A marriage chest dated 1539 in the Gastang chapel. Many panels of C15 stained glass.

There are all sorts of wooden structures and channels in the Don Edwards park. Not exactly sure what they were for, but the make for great subjects.
