Finished planting with Trachycarpus fortunei, Fatsia japonica, Dryopteris filix-mas, Buzus sempervirens balls and Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Crowborough'. The plants have been interplanted with Allium 'Mount Everest' , Tulipa Triumphator' and Narcissi ' Mount Hood' for early and mid Spring interest. This planting is low maintenance, and gives structure all year round. These plants highlight the newly painted green render on the house. These plants will grow and offer a shield from the road in time.

I dragged my family to Biosphere 2. We took a tour inside and under the glass! They thought it was cool. The beautiful trail system takes you on a tour of the tropical savanna, million-gallon ocean and its real coral reef, coastal fog desert, the basement technosphere, the opened tropical rainforest which contains over 150 different species of plants, the upper Biomes, and into the amazing lungs that help the Biosphere system breathe. Amazing!

Current active research in Biosphere 2 includes: Hillslope Modeling, Plant Mortality, Vegetation Change Impacts on Water, and Carbon-Water Nexus. In combination with the University of Arizona, B2 Earthscience is building a program to bridge the gap between laboratory- and field-scale studies, by utilizing the unique infrastructure of the Biosphere 2.
