More than 40 guardsmen from 1-171st General Support Aviation Battalion, Georgia Army National Guard along with five UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters arrived in the belly of a giant C-5 Galaxy aircraft July 27 in Tbilisi, Georgia to provide support for exercise Noble Partner. Noble Partner 2018 is a Georgian Armed Forces and U.S. Army Europe cooperatively-led exercise in its fourth iteration. The exercise is intended to support and enhance the readiness and interoperability of Georgia, the U.S. and participating nations during a multinational training operation. This exercise provides leaders at all levels the opportunity to exercise their staffs in command and control; and execution of combined planning for complex joint operations. Noble Partner 2018 is conducted at Vaziani and Camp Norio Training Areas in Georgia.

PANEVEZYS, Lithuania – Private 1st Class Benjamin Grasso, Able Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat (Airborne), scans his sectors of fire Oct. 22 during Exercise Strong Shield. The exercise, which ran through Oct. 23, is a Lithuanian hosted 96-hour continues exercise designed to test the nation’s ability to work with different internal and external agencies to marshal their capabilities and defend their position. On June 11, 2018 Latvian soldiers together with Canadien led eFP battlegroup soldiers, US 2nd Cavalry regiment and US Army cadets train together in exercise “Saber Strike 2018” as defending force; the training takes place in Skrunda region, including Nīkrāce, Lēnas, Tukums and Rudbārži.

 

Combat training is conducted at the Ādaži Training Area and outside the training area, in Rucava, Nīca, Grobiņa, Priekule, Durbe, Aizpute, Skrunda, Vaiņode, Saldus and Limbaži districts.

 

Saber Strike, led by United Stated Army Europe, is an annual joint training of land and air forces, which began on 2010.
