Mark Ash Wood, Hants. Even at this distance, the way the owl's colouration merges with the beech tree in which it is sat is amazing.
At sunset, juvenile was leaning on a forked branch and not ‘sitting’ up. It snoozed in this position, looked around in the same position. Before finally getting upright. (28 Jul 2017)

Tawny Owl Strix aluco at night near Bedford Bedfordshire.
This trip, 16th March 2012 we had 4 Tawny Owls, 2 Barn Owls and lots of Munjac with very small fawns!

Later on juvenile makes a clumsy attempt to fly out of the tree. (24 Jul 2017 pm)

Mother appears to feed juvenile. She also grooms it. Before she moves a little further away to rest for the day.
