Look who's back!! I hadn't seen this character since June. What a tame bird it was this evening. I was shooting with a 70-300mm lens from distances as close as 12 feet. Unfortunately, it was rather dark outside, so I was using a higher ISO than I normally use, and the shutter speeds were still very low.

Found napping in the garden this afternoon. Unfortunately, it flew away before I could get a clearer photo. Have often heard them at night, but first time seen during the day.
Quite a few species of birds worked their way around this Barred Owl. None seemed to be upset by his presence. An accipiter made an appearance and started to "kek kek kek" repeatedly...and then the owl flushed with the Cooper's in pursuit. I would have liked to have caught that scenario on camera but it was over in a second.
