With each and every post we strive here at Creative Tempest to bring you only the best artists from around the world. This post comes to you all the way from Culemborg, The Netherlands, with our artist being none other than Patrick Monkel. Patrick is a freelance Graphic Designer and head of Monk Design. He makes it very clear that what drives him and his business, the thing that motivates him to do his best is simply passion, “Passion is the word for me when it comes to design. I love all kinds of design and (digital) art. In my daily work I try to keep evolving my style and am eager to learn about new things”. We’re happy to post such talent and vision here on Creative Tempest and hope you will share the same appreciation for great artwork that we do. Find out more at www.creativetempest.com

Blocks of townhouses in West Harlem, originally built by the developer David E. King as the King Model Houses (1891-1893). See introductory comments here.
Seen here: the centerpiece set, occupying the entire block between 138th and 139th: a yellow-brick Renaissance dream by Bruce Price & Clarence S. Luce. As they completely wrap the interior carriageway, they really give a sense of how this typology was supposed to work. These could be seen as a last gasp of the sort of genteel, low-rise urbanism that was rapidly being replaced, city-wide, by increasingly bulky and barely-regulated mid-rise tenements. Alternatively, we might see them in parallel with contemporary "model tenements," and later "garden apartment" schemes, which both essentially sought to hybridize the tenement and the courtyard model.
1959 Chevrolet Impala Convertible rear in pristine shape. Full air bagged suspension, chrome undercarriage, Daytons, chrome, sounds. What other lowriders should strive to be!
The battle rages as Union and Confederate troops clash during the Civil War reenactment at Willamette Mission State Park, Oregon.
180/365 ...an act which expends lots of energy and achieves nothing (in the final analysis) except the sense of not having yet arrived (!). Hilarious.

"It is the nature of the strong heart, that like the palm tree it strives ever upwards when it is most burdened."
Sir Phillip Sidney
An image of a Palm Tree found at Bonaventure Cemtery in Savannah, Georgia. These can be found all throughout the city - which was a nice treat for a northerner such as me who had never really seen one, nevermind an abundance, of these close up and "intimate-like".
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Peale's building renovation. 100% of the ticket sales for the "Strive" film screening benefited our 1814 structure, the oldest purpose-built museum in the United States. We were pleased to present a number of other activities, including hand-cut silhouettes, virtual- and augmented reality exhibitions, as well as a short documentary produced by the Baltimore National Heritage Area about the G300 Squeegee Kids. For a full description of the evening's events and more Peale programs visit thePealeCenter.org.

Volunteer Nepal Kathmandu Allison Inouye Arrival, tour and work days. My cousin Jennifer is 17 and is striving to be an anesthesiologist and needs volunteer hours. She thought this would be a great opportunity and asked if I would like to go with her. In the midst of wanting to be apart of this program in support of my cousins dreams I've also wondered if my purpose in life is to be apart of something bigger. Perhaps gaining the experience in aid to those in need will expand into something larger. I have a degree in Fine Arts but I don't want my experience in life to be limited to the title of my degree.
