This slide was taken in October 1972 by me. 10 years after the Chinese had shelled this airstrip at Dingrungtse in the vast Chushul Plain (4360 m). This air strip has not functioned since 1962 and now there is nosign of the strip even. At the back is seen the entrance to Spangur Gap. On the first right shoulder is a Chinese post. These days, though suspicion remains, there is frequent contact with the Chinese at Spangu Gap and at Chushul. These are on each country's National days. .

Bill and Addie Florence Browning, my parents, stripping tobacco with my sister, Mary Lou posing for the camera. I,m sure that the corn stalks along the wall really helped to warm the barn. The hand tied bundles,on the stick were the lower leaves on the tobacco stalk, the grade called trash.
Well, a small portion of it, anyway.
Seen from Pipe Spring National Monument, where a park ranger told us that, before the Mormons arrived after the Civil War with thousands of cattle and sheep, the grass here was "head-high on a horse". Just a few years of over-grazing, combined with a drop in moisture, turned the strip into a practically uninhabitable wasteland.
Arizona Highway 389 runs across the center of the photo. The vehicles are traveling east; Fredonia is about 10 miles away.
Every evening along San Antonio's sunset strip in Ibiza crowds gather at uber cool bars, such as the legendary Cafe Mambo, to watch the spectacular sunsets & chillax with a nice cold drink as when the sun goes down the party starts and it continues right the way through the night until it rises again the next morning.

very basic lighting set up jewelry shot. minor editing. not an incredibly elaborate or "fancy" ring, but kind of minimal and it's clean. I was happy enough with it to post it, so... and shot with the 100mm on my k5iis. Pleased to get some nice macro shots using this lens. Had fun testing out this lens and seeing another side of my camera.
Strip mining is a problem in Knott and Perry County. In the past years I have really noticed the changes in the area, how the mountains are slowly disappearing. While on my way to school one morning I stopped and took pictures of the strip mining along new 80. That’s when I saw what mining was doing to our lands. It is destroying our trees, mountain tops and the homes of many helpless animals. The beautiful mountains of Kentucky is what people love to see especially in fall when the trees start changing colors, they are taking away one part of Kentucky that the people really love. Then they have landfills which in time can cause land- slides which can destroy or kill what ever is in it’s path. Strip mining is a big problem when you sit down and think about all the things it causes and the things it changes.

Skeleton girl stripped of paint; torso and upper arms and thighs from the Werewolf CAM set. :) She has interesting features under there--not too "pretty" and nicely alien with the huge eye sockets and the contoured bones. Thumbs up! Also: love those shoes. I want a pair in real life!
I attended a "Strip Felting" workshop on the weekend with Polly Stirling www.wildturkeyfeltmakers.com/PollyStirling.html. It is strips of fabric and merino wool layered and felted. Great workshop!!!

This bike frame has been locked to this stand in Sheffield for AGES. Not much left of it for people to pinch now and what's left doesn't look like it's worth having anyway. Surprised the council haven't bothered to remove it.

Used two 300Ws Walimex strobes with a softbox and cardboards to only let light pass through a stripe shaped opening. Triggered a 580ex flash behind the subject for hair lighting.

This quilt resulted from the left over blocks and fabric strips from my original #Hashtag quilt.
The narrow blue borders are quarter inch flanges. This resulted in a change to my proposed quilting as they would not be appropriate for a circle quilting or narrow vertical line quilting. Instead it was a 'decision' as you go design. I quilted all of it using a walking foot.

The news of the Sauter Building's impending doom didn't become public knowledge until Public Works showed up to begin cudely tearing off the copper cladding from the building's bay windows, which was then hauled off for scrap - the money would go back into the city's funding.

On safari at the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania. It's the largest national park in Africa and the second largest in the entire world. It was named after British explorer and hunter Frederick Selous.
At the end of our safari, we flew on a small charter plane to the island of Zanzibar. The airport was a dirt landing strip in the middle of a jungle clearing. No x-ray machines, metal detectors and pat downs, no long lines for checking in, and no announcements about unattended baggage being seized, searched and destroyed. It was the easiest plane trip I ever took.
