The photograph shows Moritzplatz, a section of Augsburg's city centre, at night. The light stars have been generated by a small aperture.
I've taken a sunrise photo at this location a few years back, but every sunrise is different, and this time if you look to the right of the tree you can see the crescent moon!

Well this isn't something I see very often. All these pelicans hanging out together. This day I had a Manatee swim about 2 feet in front of me, he was on a mission to go somewhere and didn't stick around. I was sure there was nothing to photograph and then all the pelicans started to grop together.
The strip of field which always seems to be left fallow, and always full of wild flowers too. more rain again today.
Looks like we have a severe weather warning in place, big storm Francis with winds of 70MPH and heave rain, it may pass North of my location in Sussex but we shall see. Storms in summer sounds crazy so hold onto your hats .
Who knew that the simple parking lot of a strip mall could provide the backdrop for the magnificent panorama of a summer-storm sunset?

Early last fall I captured this image of the Bald Faced Hornet on our back deck. When I read up on him, it said he is actually a member of the Yellow Jacket wasps and not a true hornet. Either way, I was not happy to have him visit. I react quite strongly to bee and wasp stings so I always carry a small container of white vinegar with me to apply to a sting quickly to neutralize the effects. It works within minutes if I apply it right after the sting. The other reason we don’t like the wasps hanging around is because they strip pieces of wood off the posts. I thought initially when I discovered this, that a neighbourhood cat was scratching at our deck. I guess the wasps find it easy material for making their paper nests. This is my Wing Wednesday post for the day.
I had some FUN with kids telling how "Möbius strip" works, and letting them practice with the red thing.
If you haven't heard about "Möbius strip" which was discovered by the German mathematicians August Ferdinand Möbius and Johann Benedict Listing (each one discovered independently) in the late 19th century, you may find from the internet.

Low morning sun at Bottle Alley in Hastings, East Sussex, UK. Fellow photographer Roff Smith was just setting up for a morning shoot having arrived by bike in his customary fashion. I don`t why farmers leave a strip of wild area in the middle and around the edges of a field, if someone knows I would be interested to know as well.
This is two images blended together to get the foreground nice and sharp and one to capture the colour in the sky where I used a lee reverse grad filter to hold back the brighter area.
