I was in Vegas for a convention (surprise surprise) and managed to get this shot after many shaky attempts from my hotel room in the lovely Mandalay Bay. I want to say I was on the 17th floor, but don't quote me on that.
Hint: Ask for a room facing The Strip when you check in! I picked that up off of a travel site on the web and certainly didn't regret it! (Got the last non-smoking room on this side of the hotel, thankyouverymuch.)

A group of core networking volunteers and friends from past events (like What the Hack 2005, Hacking at Random 2009, Chaos Communication Camp 2011, Observe. Hack. Make 2013) needed to make alterations to a few kilometers of fiber optic cable to be ready for upcoming events such as Chaos Communication Camp 2015, Campzone 2015 and SHA2017.
This turned into a fusion splicing (fiber splicing) workshop.

I've run into these women at a few Dallas Comic Cons and found them to be wonderfully delightful costumers, fun to talk to, and fun to take pictures of and with.
I used the little girl pattern print as my focus fabric and added coordinating prints for the rest of the strips.

Coat/shoe rack part of "the landing strip." Maybe I should find a way to cover up the breaker box? It's kind of out of place looking. Hmmm...
I have a lot of strips cut to 1 x 3 inches and 1 x 5 inches, so I came up with this block. As you can see from the block on the bottom, it's just a rectangle 3 x 4 inches framed with the strips and then a 1.5 inch strip on one side to bring it up to a square. I think these will make a nice design once the seams are taken.
